This was my biggest pet peeve with Fox who would commonly release partial seasons on Blu-ray and then stop. Hence the reason why I and many others stopped picking up the season sets right away as they've educated us that they'll never follow through with the entire series.

Agreed. It's frustrating and infuriating that the entire season is remastered in HD but they're pulling the plug and just giving us DVDs going forward. What an insult. Look at that comparison cap above on caps-a-holic - the VUDU is all smeared compared to the superior blu-ray release. I'm convinced the studios want blu-ray to fail. And they actually think we're going to jump into 4k blu-ray? Lol, why, so they can do the same thing in 4k - release partial seasons and then pull the plug blaming poor sales, while Wal-Marts still only stock the DVDs?

It's never going to die off if it's the dominant format being sold in places like Walmart. The sad part is, big box retailers favor DVD over Blu-ray because, well, it's what people seem to prefer. And that's not even the scariest part - there are lots of people out there who actually laugh at those of us who are buying physical media. At my job, for instance, where I have all of my orders sent, 99% of my co-workers who see me tear packages open shake their heads in disbelief. "You bought another Blu-ray? Why?!?", then they proceed to stick their cell phones in my face to show me movies they've downloaded for free. Then I get lectured on all the money I'm "throwing away". Ugh, it's sickening. With all the chain smokers I see lumbering around, their cigarette budgets probably rival their monthly mortgage payments and they're lecturing me about spending habits??? F**K OFF

I get that too, being laughed at or seem "weird" that I'm buying Bluyrays (or movies in general).
And yes, at least ours is a healthy hobby comparing to those who spend all their money on cigarettes, on "crazy" nights out at bars drinking and I don't know what else...

It's depressing, I know. As for the free movies thing, where I come from that's called stealing. And as for "Why buy physical media when you can just stream?".... four words come to mind: "The Dukes of Hazzard."

All I can say is, spread the word: Lionsgate can't be trusted to release a complete series on blu-ray, so don't buy Lionsgate blu-ray seasons unless you don't mind being stuck with half a series.

They forgot to also inform Best Buy. Their listing is still up.

Then when season 7 doesn't sell because of being unavailable on Blu-ray, they probably won't release 8, 9, or the movies separately, which wouldn't bother me since I'm not buying any DVDs of the series after getting the first six seasons on Blu and all nine seasons on Vudu HDX.

You should let NBC know your thoughts since this is their show.

What's funny is Lionsgate sells the Blu-rays of the other seasons, in their shop, for slightly less than the DVDs.
