Well, you're consistent.
Quote:
Above all I enjoy the comparatively darker, even somewhat mean-spirited tone, and I feel like there's a greater sense of "danger" than in the other three movies. In JP and JPIII very few characters die, and those who do "earn it" by being grown men with guns and an affinity for shooting/blowing things up, or outright slimy and villainous. TLW on the other hand opens with an attack on a little girl and follows it with a long string of people being injured or killed, both men and women, good and bad. At times it gets surprisingly brutal, like Eddie being torn in half during a heroic moment in which he saves the other "good guys", or Carter stomped on and crushed. It even kills a dog, something many other blockbusters hesitate to do. All of this makes it feel more intense and "realistic" to me in that of course dinosaurs wouldn't care about your gender, age or if you're a human's beloved pet. JW is a bit more like TLW in this regard (high body count and diversity of victims), but so over-the-top that it doesn't have quite the same effect. |

If only the "good guys" weren't extremely unlikable, with Roland being the most sympathetic character and he's ostensibly an antagonist. |

One thing I've never understood about Roland though, why is he so intent on killing the male T. rex specifically? It can't be because the male is larger and more ferocious, as they both seem about equal in that respect. My best guess is it's because the female could be (or become) pregnant, I know hunters and fishers sometimes leave females alone for that reason. I'd say:
Jurassic Park Jurassic World Jurassic Park: The Lost World Jurassic Park 3 I haven't seen the third one since 2001. My dad took my sister and I to see it in the theater. I hated it. Any of the main characters could've got bumped off and I wouldn't feel anything. I don't even own it. |

It's easy to make Vince Vaughn unlikable but kinda hard to do with Julianne Moore. Well played, Spielberg! Well played. |

I still don't understand why so many people keep talking about the "running in high heels" part in Jurassic World. Who cares? Does Claire running in high heels speak to a global issue? No. It's a three-second shot that, before the web, nobody would even remember after the credits roll. It's one of the biggest nitpicks I've ever heard.

As the film progresses it becomes obvious that Ludlow is the only true villain; a ruthless businessman who has no respect for anyone or anything other than the money he can make by taking advantage of them. Quote:
