i havent seen the show because the bluray is so expensive. $50 for one season is a bit much for me. Not like it's a remastered star trek or something.

I do hope you're right. I'm fine with the common release week drop followed by $50+ for as long as they please. I'm just worried that with no competition, they'll feel no need to lower it at all, in which case I'll just hope that it's region-free like the first season.

You're not the only one.

There's few fandoms who get screwed over more than TV series Blu-ray fans.

The mouse is hardcore with his prices, even if a certain title has been out for quite a time.

Yeah, the price on this is really a bummer! I think I got the first season on BD from Best Buy for $29.99 if I'm not mistaken. If Amazon were in that range, give for take $5-10, I'd have a preorder in right now.

As it is, considering the season is on Netflix too, I'm not in a huge rush to pick this up. Maybe for Christmas.

Shoot 40 and 30 would be fine with me but these prices are ridiculous.

You can import it from the UK for around $40. But it doesn't come out until next month. Hopefully the price will drop as usual in the US come release week. But just thought I'd give you another option if you're willing to pay $40, which seems reasonable to me for a Disney title.

The price seems high until you consider you pay $20-$25 for 90-120 minutes of entertainment when you buy a film. With a TV season your getting possibly a 1000+ minutes.

Just my 2 cents.

That's how I see it myself, makes sense. $30 for 710 minutes of TWD last week was more than reasonable to me.

I'll wait for Black Friday when hopefully both Season 2 and Carter go on sale, especially Carter.

It's not that I don't agree with this logic. It's the fact that we can compare it to other TV releases (rather than to movie releases) that makes the price seem high to me. This would normally be in the $30-$40 price range during release week if there was competition. It's really too soon to complain. It might drop quite a bit during that week. We all know the prices start at that high point, drop during release week, then are raised again the next week. We'll just have to wait and see how this plays out. ♥

Yeah, although I think the lower production quality of most shows (and in AoS's case, lower quality overall :/) would make me less inclined to spend more money on it. However, shows do typically contain many more discs than movies (although, that's not always the case anymore).

I don't really have an issue with spending a bit more for shows though. You're right; the runtime does factor in

Season 3's first few episodes are rumored to cost significantly more than anything done in the first two seasons.
[Show spoiler]Rumor is it's gonna get cosmic with Simmons and the Kree monolith questions being answers right away
.

Just sayin'.

True but you also have to remember that a Marvel movies have much higher production values per minute than television shows do. Agents of SHEILD probably has a budget something like 2-3 million per episode. Age of Ultron cost 280 million. If Agents of SHEILD lasts 5 seasons the entire series will still have cost less than Age of Ultron did.

Oh shoot. The concept of no slipcover hadn't even entered my mind. Lacking a full retail release, I think it's totally up in the air. That's upsetting my minor OCD, as I have slips on all of my other MCU blu-rays.

I'm officially nervous.

No, don't give them any ideas, they will start selling tv seasons for $250 each

I hope the Disney Movie Club gets Agents of Shield and Agent Carter at some point.

I hope this drops in price from what Amazon has it for now. if it does, I'll defiantly be buying.
