i wanted the trilogy but was in the privy

so they want £70 odd for a cardboard box with a printed flux capacitor on it?

am i missing something??

i cant see it containing the trilogy steelbook just a digibook? or is the flux capacitor a fully working item as in lights up??

also the zavvi edition does not include the animation series

im so confused on it now.

I want to give them the benefit of the doubt and say that perhaps the stock image is contrast boosted. It has happened before. But if this is how it will look, then this is barely Struzan's original work anymore.

Not a fan of the new SteelBooks. I am a BTTF fan so I was considering it, but I much prefer the old German artwork for the individual releases (which are pretty much on clearance now for 9.99 EU).

Don't like the trilogy art too. There is so much art out there for these movies, it's really a missed opportunity. If anyone hasn't seen it, look up the alternative Drew Struzan posters that didn't make it as the final work. Instead we get the same art that has been cropped from the poster art.

As for the flux capacitor, I think it's a light-up LED box, is it not?

I already own the trilogy on Blu twice due to the SteelBook and tin box editions. I also have the Filmarena SteelBook of Part 1. It would take a lot for me to re-purchase again.

Not digging the steels. Went with the US flux set instead.

In their defence they did post a tweet about 5 mins before it went live.

Wait, why is there a flame in front of Marty's leg?

Is that supposed to be a reflection? It isn't on the original movie poster.

It's supposed to be the light from the flame bouncing off his jeans, but it's so bright in the steelbook version that it almost looks like the flame itself

I don't think Drew Struzan's work needs added quality, awesome UK Steelbooks like Big Trouble in Little China, The Goonies and the Indiana Jones series are evidence of this. I am pretty sure the DeLorean will feature in the back or inside artwork (or both) anyway, so there is no need for a reference on the front artwork.

Yep, contrast fail. Makes it look loke the trail of flames goes right through his leg, or even funnier that his leg is shooting out flames

The trilogy steelbook is the only decent looking one.
The single steelbooks? Not so much. :/

I'll stick to getting the Flux Capacitor boxset.

as i mentioned previously above are we 100% sure the uk zavvi version does not include the animation series (flux capacitor box)? like what the amazon.com box does?

if it does not then zavvi are really over charging considering the usa version is only currently a little higher (including vat + priority shipping)

just enquiring if anyone knows???

I don't think its too bad. The Flux box is nicer, but I just don't have the room. I'm doubling dipping and this steel will take up less room than the digipak I currently have.

well that blows

oh well ill have to order the amazon.com ... as i am not buying any zavvi rip-off substandard maximum profit boxset even if they have nothing to do with the contents.. .

only issue i dont like is doing pre-orders on amazon.com for high value items due to packaging being like Russian roulette...unlike amazon.co.uk..

its also *** law that i am 30mins too late for one of the very few boxset steelbooks zavvi have done
i guess they will come back into stock near release like most things do.

by the way ...thanks for all the info from everyone that chipped in

not me, even if the triology was available I prolly woulda purchased the individuals but still had just a tinge of "what am I missing without that bonus disc"

I am happy with the individuals how they look....I'm not going to be swayed like I was originally by some bluray.com posters with the Jurrasic Park steels, then finally said fudge it and paid more than I would've earlier.

this is the first steelbook for the trilogy that was ever released that I liked the artwork. I will buy it just for this reason alone. I will probably get the flux capacitor from the US because of the animated series.
