Why is any title released without a 4K scan at this point? They cry that sales continue to drop and more people are streaming.. well MAKE IT WORTH OUR WHILE AND GIVE US THE BEST POSSIBLE VERSION! I have over 1200 Blu Ray titles, so I think I am right in DEMANDING these studios put the effort in... and hell they will need to for the next format anyway, so why not start now!

Do it right, and I will gladly continue to buy.. repackage old crap, and streaming it is!

In the UK you can buy the four movie set for around £10, so this would really have to be something special.

As much as I'd like a remaster, it'll probably be like Million Dollar Baby or Interview With the Vampire. Old encodes, lossless audio, and a new short featurette. I think they actually remastered The Fugitive, but I'm not sure. If it is a new master, I'll definitely upgrade!

I agree... I would have loved them to use the original poster art on the cover instead. Also I think this would have been a great movie to release as a digibook.

Anybody that purchases blu-ray's, and is a collector, has the right in demanding the studios to release quality transfers to disc. You may have 1200 blus but my 400 are just as important as are somebody's 150. Point is, we all buy blus that are members of this site. We all deserve the best quality the studios have to offer.

Anyone ever see the DVD of this movie? The transfer was dreadful. One of the worst I've ever seen. The worst was probably Fright Night 2 (1988).

True but it's no excuse for recycling old transfers when Warner has the money to do a new scan.

It doesn't even have to be 4K really, although that would be ideal - if there are no UHD plans for this a 2K might suffice. A brand new and properly done 2K scan could be a huge upgrade over the crappy existing release. Lots outstanding 2K discs out there. I'd take a brand new 2K disc gladly, the only shame would be if they re-released such a mediocre 2006 release. We are in agreement that would be totally unacceptable.

Looks like there has been a few DVDs. I have the Special Edition that was released in 2003 and never had any issues with how it looked.

I usually don't care about owning Christmas movies on Blu-ray since I only watch them once a year, but this is definitely a Top 5 favorite, so I wouldn't mind having a remastered Blu-ray of it.

I've owned this on VHS, DVD and now Blu-ray. IF it's a new, improved transfer I'll buy it again. A Thanksgiving afternoon and Christmas Eve tradition at our house.

He could have written it more professionally though if he wanted to be noticed and taken seriously, it was a pretty poor email IMO.
