I rented it last night and thought it was okay. I never saw the TV series and it was basically what I expected, but not something I would probably watch again.

Had mixed feelings about this. Henry and Armie were great and had a good chemistry. I didn't like the female lead very much and I'm not sure why. I liked her character but I didn't connect with the actress. I liked that things were somewhat predictable but usually had a bit of a twist on the tropes. I guess what I appreciated the most was that it felt like there was real effort to do the same old spy stuff with a bit more style and not just go by the numbers. But as much as I really wanted to love it I just liked it. That being said I would really like a sequel.

Should I get the Blu-Ray or the iTunes copy of this? Its $9.99 (I live in NZ so i will be paying about $15) or I can pick up the steelbook blu ray here locally for $24 (same price as standard edition).

Had a blast watching it a second time. The only downside was that after the film ended, the person I was watching it with remarked that all the actors were white. Which admittedly is kinda weird for a 2015 film.

Yeah, there was so much multiculturalism in 60s West Germany and Italy.

There could have been an Nigerian KGB field agent working in West Germany in 1964.

Shoehorning an African/A-A CIA agent during a time when they weren't highly represented seems forced.

During the Naples road race/rich folk banquet, there could have been wealthy Africans amongst the crowd.

I have no issue w/ era specific films/tv shows reflecting the segregation of the times. Its a disservice to apply 2015 PC worldview to 1964. Not every place was Sesame Street in 1964.
