The Expendables 1, 2, & 3 Metalboxes

best buy is having a sale on steelbooks right now, and among them these are listed, though not at a "sale" price, its the same 17.99 thats been there since announcment. i'm pretty sure these are steelbooks, though they also have the project pop art wave 2 which are apparently metal paks as well as the Tut metalpak on sale.

Only if you reallyyyy want a steelbook. IMO the movies themselves are worth at most $10 for all.

I submitted an order for all three online, the website gave me an automatic Wednesday arrival date, the website says they are preparing them for shipping but no movement as of yet.

I am thinking of canceling the order if they don't ship tomorrow.

Hey I passed by my local best buy and they were putting then on the shelves and they are the Metal Case. Exactly like the Spaceballs one.

Well I just got a shipping notice. If they are iron paks then I'll return them to the store.

I actually don't mind metalpaks. Sure there not as nice as steelbooks, but there a hell of a lot better than regular case blu-rays.

If they are like the Spaceballs one, then they are Metalboxes. Or possibly Ironpaks like willo007 mentioned. Differences can be seen here in post #2...

Actually I liked the Viva Metal Cases as they were as sturdy or more study than SteelBooks, when they do embossing the lip is 5 times smaller than the lip on the edge of SteelBooks. I have no problem with Viva Metal Cases if they come back!

Sounds like the MetalBox that recently surfaced. I think it's a reworked Viva Metal Box. The spines aren't too bad, and it's definitely better than a MetalPak.

I am sooooo disappointed!


This whole week has been disappointing. First the fat boys break up, then the pop art releases are media paks then this.. I am really bummed out!

The Walking Dead was a lackluster waste of 90 minutes and the Packers lost. It truly has been a terrible week already (and it's only Sunday).

They aren't Viva MetalBox (horizontal plastic on spine) nor reworked. They look like legitimate IronPacks but those started at Futureshop ex Prince of Persia, and Princess and the Frog. This is the best alternative if they weren't going to be steelbooks

Would this mark the return of the iron pack and the debut of them in the United States?

My Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Futureshop iron pack is still my favorite metal packaged movie in my entire collection. It's flippin' gorgeous.
