I watched the pilot episode of DS9 and liked it enough. I didn't expect Sisko to be so... flamboyant?

I only have two seasons left of Voyager.

He's not quite as laid-back as Picard, Pike or Kirk, probably because being the Emissary is so taxing. I will watch VOY myself after I finish DS9, that will possibly happen this weekend.

I actually enjoyed Deep Space Nine, as well. It was a welcome change to see Avery Brooks take on the appearance of his character "Hawk" from "Spencer For Hire". I have to admit that I found it disconcerting when Sisko would always pause between every word. It was like someone kept hitting the pause button every time he spoke a word. This became very noticeable whenever Sisko was confronting Gul Dukat or the Klingons, when he would be seen talking to them.

Amazing news!!!

https://variety.com/2016/tv/news/sta...al-1201700606/

Quote:
“Hannibal” creator Bryan Fuller has found his next mission: showrunner and co-creator of CBS’ new “Star Trek” series.

A longtime fan of science fiction, Fuller began his career writing for “Star Trek: Voyager” (1997-2001) and “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine” (1997).

“My very first experience of ‘Star Trek’ is my oldest brother turning off all the lights in the house and flying his model of a D7 Class Klingon Battle Cruiser through the darkened halls. Before seeing a frame of the television series, the ‘Star Trek’ universe lit my imagination on fire,” said Fuller. “It is without exaggeration a dream come true to be crafting a brand new iteration of ‘Star Trek’ with fellow franchise alum Alex Kurtzman and boldly going where no ‘Star Trek’ series has gone before.”

The new series is set to bow on CBS in January 2017, then move to CBS’ All Access digital subscription service. It will be the first original series to launch on a broadcast network but air primarily on an SVOD service.

Outside of seeing the 2 NuTrek films, neither of which I much cared for, I've never watched Star Trek or paid it much attention. But now that it's Fuller onboard, I'm definitely going to be checking it out.

I heard that Fuller was going to be on board.

Certainly piqued my interest now!

Or we can enjoy the greatness while it lasts, even if it is short-lived.

Getting through the first two seasons was rough. I've loved it ever since the third one though.

I predict this show will be very popular on torrent websites.

Also.

They should make this original timeline post DS9 building the Romulan story.

well one thing I have read is that the CBS version of trek is unrelated to the alternate timeline so it would be interesting to see where things pick up.

Hell with that. I can't believe something with this branding, fanbase, and budget would be subscription only. I'm not taking on any more monthly subscription charges. They just made it very easy for me to skip this.
