While a May release date makes total sense, some SW book collector's site reported that the release of some new books was moved from April 26 to April 5 and might coincide with the home video release. I hope so.

I sure hope they do a 3D release, preferably a 3D steelbook release. Those posters are kinda cool, but 25 bucks for an iTunes or Vudu version seems steep.

Well there's an Australian release set for April 21st, so by my guess the US will get it April 19th.

Only getting a 3D BD release. Awesome 3D on This and should only be seen in 3D imo.

April seems really early to me. The 6th would only be just over 3 and a half month since release. Avengers: Age of Ultron took 5 months to be released on home video, and The Force Awakens is very likely going to have a longer theater run. I'm still thinking May right now.

The presentation was messed up in my cinema so there was persistent cross-talk throughout.

It looked as though the 3D could be awesome though, so I'm looking forward to the Blu.

It was awesome. Pop outs and depth. It was on par with JW Maybe even a little better. This is a must own on 3D BD

I bet every retailer under the sun will have something exclusive with the Blu-ray just like every damn commercial I have watched on TV the last couple of weeks has had a Star Wars theme to it.

I'm about to see this though I'm worried because I keep hearing that it's nothing but feminist propaganda with an unreasonably omnipotent Rey who can basically beat Ren, Vader, The Emperor, Darth Maul, and Count Dooku all at the same time with her pinky toe if she wanted to. Oh well, only one way to find out...

Lol well I've always wanted to see a powerful force user like Leia or Mara Jade, on screen. Since they'd both be 30 years older in this and no one wants to see old ladies use the force, they had to bring in new blood.

And I doubt Mara Jade is even going to be in it or mentioned at all.

Not that I'm anti-woman, of course but I just hope it's organic to the story and not a force-fed agenda pushing tactic used by JJ. I'm going to find out for myself in a half hour.

I'd go with that gorgeous theatrical poster on the front. Anything less would leave me disappointed, I have to say. But heck, they could slip this in a paper bag marked with sharpie and I'd still buy it day one.
I don't mind the current steelbooks. All theatrical poster artwork is on the rear, which IMO, really saved these releases. If the new films have poster art on the front I'm okay with that too.
I'm hoping they don't stop there:

Neo Case and digibooks please!

Who do you think will release a BD version with the most special features? I only want to buy one watchable version of this.

What you heard is b.s. and whoever said it should be ignored in the future.
