I think I'd be looking forward to a Red Dead Redemption Remaster and Red Dead Redemption II. (Who said it was a prequel?)

It's pretty well known that the RDR2 is a prequel. It's been reported by several outlets.

I can definitely see why they would believe it's a prequel based on the story ending where
[Show spoiler]John Marsten has his son take over the ranch.
I wouldn't mind in this case, as his character was awesome in RDR.

More rumours

https://www.reddit.com/r/rockstar/co...ls_2_upcoming/

tl;dr: Rockstar's games list page linked to two 404ed game pages that match the number format to suggest 2 RDR titles. The page got updated so it's not there anymore, but I got one screenshot.

I don't understand why companies take so long to announce a game. I mean what's so special about announcing a game at E3 when it ain't going to come out until the following year or long? Rockstar should just go a head and announce what ever game it is and give us the info they want us to have.

Backlash does happen. People get impatient and angry. Can't really predict what people will do. I'm sure they'll announce when they have their ducks in a row.

Delays are so much the norm that I think most just accept them and take them in stride.

Early announcements serve a good purpose, especially for larger studios and publishers where you have a multi-year project costing millions or tens of millions of dollars and the board (and shareholders) wants some indication of demand for the end product. Preorder activity can be an advance indicator of sales and something used to project revenues.

True. But I expect if they're going to announce they probably will at a show like e3. A sequel to one of the best games of all time deserves a show

One of my all-time favorite games!

Especially loved RDR: Undead Nightmare! There was something so zen like, killing zombies in slow motion / dead eye mode.

I don't mind them waiting to announce. I would rather that than a situation like No Man's Sky.

Rockstar doesnt typically announce games at E3. Look at all their releases last gen. When RDR2 gets an official announcement, it'll likely be on their times. Rockstar doesnt need E3 to generate hype, like other companies. I wouldnt be surprised if they relesed a press release and/or trailer next week or at least within the next month

So? Red dead isn't GTA . And IMO was better than GTA IV, and GTA V. So why not?
Plus red dead redemption was revealed at e3 if memory serves... so there's that.

No it wasnt. RDR was announced in Feb 2009, 4 months before E3

Ok I'm wrong. But still don't understand why not. I think patience goes a long way. They'll announce when they're ready. Be it before, during, or after e3. Not sure what the big deal is.

Its not.. With E3 so close, I see why it would make sense, but I can just as easily see Rockstar doing it on their own terms in their own time

I think its better to do what fallout and bethesda did have it 80%+ done and then announce it. Roll it out quickly with as few problems as possible.

When you start getting into MGS type announcements where its 2+ years in advance, especially if its a game that could have division type delays, I don't think the internet chatter is worth the benefit.

Agree. Timing matters. No Man's Sky is a relative fiasco, giving us time to be skeptics.

Yeah I don't really see a point to a lot of these companies announcing games so far in advance. Just announce a game the same year it comes out. With some of these games they get announced so far out, get delayed then I start caring less and less about them.
