![]() I don't actually have a 4K set up yet. I've been buying the 4K packs since they include the regular Blu-Ray anyway, and I'll be set for when I eventually do have a proper set up. I can tell you what I think of the regular Blu-Ray much sooner, if that interests you at all! ![]() |

Surprisingly, Walmart has the best price on the 4K....$25.94. I PM'd them at Best Buy.
Best Buy was the only main retailer to get 3D. Best Buy AND Walmart had 4K too. I grabbed both. On new releases, I still can't decide on 3D v 4K. I like 3D better, but something about passing on 4K doesn't 'feel' right. ![]() These movies are dumb, but gosh are they fun!! Last edited by Dreamliner330; 09-21-2016 at 11:57 AM. |

I really wish all studios were doing 3D/4K combo packs. I've gone back and forth about Star Trek Beyond, ultimately opting for the expensive Amazon-exclusive with all formats included. Whenever that option is presented, I have to go with it, even though $50 is a lot to ask for one movie. |

The way I buy movies, it's cheaper to buy 3D & 4K separately on Beyond, which is what I've done. |

I just watched the 4k Blu-ray last night. I thought for a Mastered in 2K DI, this looked amazing. Today, I compared scenes from the 4K Blu-ray and the Blu-ray. The 4K Blu-ray has additional detail especially in the shadows. The colors on the 4K blu-ray look more lifelike.
One huge difference is on Chapter 12. At the beginning of the chapter, it shows a forest. The amount of detail and color is quite the difference between the two. Another difference with the HDR. Go to Chapter 14, at the beginning it's showing Leonardo reading. You can see how on the Blu-ray its much brighter and washes out the color. On the 4k Blu-ray, all the detail is retained. IMO, I'm seeing quite an upgrade. I think this is a worthy 4K purchase. Note: I'm viewing this on an OLED556CP. Last edited by dunnbluray; 09-21-2016 at 11:19 PM. |

The gift package does come with a collectible packaging scenario. which is the justification of the price.

The 3D on the OLEDs is outstanding and easy on the eyes (1080p passive).
