Most of the filming locations of The Dead Zone are within a five minute drive of the house I grew up in.
![]() Unfortunately the "Dead Zone Gazebo" has recently been replaced, but at least my friend works for the company that built the replacement. |

I went on a production tour at Kualoa Ranch in Hawaii, so I got to see where they filmed some scenes in Jurassic Park and Jurassic World, among others. It's a beautiful place to visit! Since I live in MN, I've been to several spots they filmed The Mighty Ducks, including Mickey's Diner.

I've been to hundreds. It's my travel hobby. Whenever I go anywhere I have to look up what was filmed there. Too many to list, plus I'm on a mobile phone.
A few personal favorites were: - Camp Daniel Morgan from Friday The 13th Part VI: Jason Lives - Town of Spectre from Big Fish (it's an island full of goats) - Silver Falls State Park from Just Before Dawn - St Helens, Oregon during October from Halloweentown - Kiana Lodge from Twin Peaks. I hit all the major TP locations - Mountain Lake Lodge from Dirty Dancing - Juliette, Georgia from Fried Green Tomatoes - Granite Basin Lake from "The Raft" Creepshow 2 - Timberline Lodge from The Shining - Mansfield, Ohio from The Shawshank Redemption - Harrell's from I Know What You Did Last Summer |

I used to sometimes visit Guildford cathedral (when I lived there). It has an unusual very long ascending driveway off the main road. 1976's The Omen used it as a location for the bit where Damien is freaking out as they drive up to it. Probably the best thing about Guildford.

No pictures but I've been to the Texas Chili Parlor and Home Slice Pizza featured in Quentin Tarantino's "Death Proof," I've been to Mount Bonnell featured In Linklater's "Slacker" and the Coens' "Blood Simple," and I've been in the building they used for Frances McDormand's apartment in Blood Simple, when it was a huge upstairs bar called The Four Horsemen. I was also at the plaza that they shot the Emporium exterior scenes at in "Dazed And Confused." These are all Austin, TX locations.

I frequently visit many of the locations from Me, Myself & Irene and Moonrise Kingdom
Here are a few of the Moonrise Kingdom locations from my own photography. The beach scene location, from a different angle (left end of the cove). Located within Fort Wetherill State Park in Jamestown, RI. ![]() The Point Judith Lighthouse (not actually striped) in Narragansett, RI. It's a Coast Guard station and isn't always open to the public. ![]() The Castle Hill Lighthouse in Newport, RI. It is located near the Castle Hill Inn, a very popular resort with somewhat limited parking. So it's really only easy - or smiled upon - for non-guests to access it in the off-season. Though shooting photos there in winter can be pretty brutal. ![]() ![]() |

That Thing You Do! -- The street scene exteriors were shot in Old Town Orange, CA. I was there the night they were shooting (actually driving past, having to take a detour). Been on that street many times before or since though.
Evolution -- The Arizona college campus for this David Duchovny "masterpiece" was actually my alma mater, California State University, Fullerton. The science building in the movie is the theater arts building in real life. RoboCop -- I've been to Dallas City Hall, which served as the bottom floor for the OmniCorp building. |

I grew up where Gregory's Girl was shot. (Have waited under the big clock to meet people, , had a "brown coffee" in Crolla's cafe, and stood philosophising on footbridges above the motorway).
Been to the spot where Kim Novak jumps in San Francisco bay, and Alcatraz, and Lombard Street and Enrico's all in SF of course. |

I visited Beaufort, South Carolina. My uncle took me to some locations in which they filmed scenes from Forest Gump. Also I live in Puerto Rico. I have been to the radar of Arecibo where they filmed scenes for Goldeneye. Viejo San Juan has often been used for scenes of many films including assassins, etc.

I think it all started with me in 2012 trying to find a location used in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (Fincher). There is a sequence towards the end of the film in London which was filmed in Lonsdale Square I believe, and I went there to see the house they used.
Then I went to NY in 2013 and scouted some of the Ghostbusters locations, firehouse, the Central Park restaurant, Library, Ghozer building etc. I went to Stockholm at the end of 2017 for a work event and whilst I was there I wanted to find a few more locations for Dragon Tattoo. So I managed to find the “Kafe” that Daniel Craig went to (its virtually unchanged). Then I went to Italy last year, did a tour around for a few weeks. One of the stops was Florence where I checked out some of the locations from Hannibal. Later on we stopped at Venice and I spent some of the time checking out locations from Indiana Jones (Last Crusade), Moonraker and Casino Royale. Late 2018 (the end of the summer) we went to Dunkirk as I have always loved war stuff and I loved the Nolan film so I went there and found a few locations (beach obvs, plus the wall they climb over and a few others.) Earlier this year we did a quick stop over in Krakow and did a few Schindler’s List location checks. In June we are going to Prague, so I will be sure to do a few Mission Impossible (1996) location scouts PS, I have already done Liverpool St Station (London, obvs) many times, however those BT phone booths are looonnnggg gone. I visited many places used as filming locations over the years:
New York Public Library (Ghostbusters) Grand Central Station (The Fisher King etc) +Various other places in London, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles. In L.A. you can't move for filming locations. But my favourite by far is Fort-la-Latte, Brittany, France. Went there on a school trip and realised when I climbed the main tower that this was the final battle location in The Vikings ![]() |

I've been to the Chinese restaurant in Washington DC where Jamie Lee Curtis and Bill Paxton filmed their scenes in True Lies. I was there with my Mom and sister around '96 or '97. The funny thing is, we didn't even realize it until we asked about a picture on the wall that we saw of Curtis posing with the staff as we were leaving.
