Hopefully there will be a full press release soon. I haven't even seen the cover art yet but Shudder and Magnolia seem to be doing a great job with our baby. Thanks again.
Man, anaglyph? I will have my pre order ready to be cancelled unfortunately.

I'm glad I didn't pre-order this one.

Magnolia have put out a real 3D blu-ray before so I am hoping they are doing so again this time. Until real 3D is confirmed though, this one can't be recommended.

Which is why nothing less than blu-ray 3D will be acceptable for the home release.

Hi 13,
Have mine pre-ordered but going to check out things too. I just see Blu-ray and 3D on cover. Could not verify 3D on web.
So requested cancellation.

I was excited to pick this up, but there's no way I'm buying anaglyph. What a flop

Hi neo,

Including glasses wouldn't be for any other reason with Blu-ray. But would explain low prices.

I cancelled pre-order, waiting for clarification too.

It could easily include anaglyph AND polarized. It was available in both on Shudder, and I can see the kitschy appeal of anaglyph as an option considering this film is a meta love letter to horror's history of 3d. Hopefully Magnolia will clear this all up, one way or another, with the formal announcement - I just hate to see all the negativity dogpile when we don't even have the info yet.

Hi neo,

I would guess most buying the 3d version would have no use for an anglyth version in addition to polarized. The anglyth can be sold on DVD where the glasses can be included.

But if both types were streamed on shudder, then I too would think the Blu-ray would be for polarized 3D sets.

Again, it's just mentioning the inclusion of glasses and the low price that makes me wonder.

Price, whether low or high, isn't a good indicator of very much. Wasn't It Came From Outer Space 3-D going for like $10 at Best Buy when it first came out? And that restoration had a lot of care go into it. American Mummy, more comparable to Found Footage as a modern, low-budget independent 3-D film is going for around $15 at Walmart currently and is a real 3-D blu-ray.

If anything, including multiple anaglyph 3-D glasses with a blu-ray package would be more likely to increase the MSRP, not result in it being cheaper.

Ultimately, all we can hopefully do is wait for more information, or for that crew member to come back to the thread with more information.

The cover art for the film on VOD has the red/blue anaglyph glasses with blood on them - it's purposeful nostalgia and a conscious part of the marketing campaign. While no one will argue with you that "true" polarized Blu-ray 3D is better from a technical perspective, I also see the retro appeal of what they're doing with anaglyph.

Again, hopefully both versions are present on the Blu-ray disc(s) - I'm just explaining why the presence of anaglyph here does not necessarily preclude the presence of polarized.

Or maybe the included anaglyph glasses are for use with the digital VOD version of the film, which is apparently anaglyph according to someone earlier in the thread. The blu-ray may come with a code for the digital copy, hence the glasses.

Can you please give us exactly Informations about the 3D Version?

Did we get only a anaglyph Version of the movie or a real 3D Blu-Ray?

If weŽll get only a anaglyph Version, this will be very dissapointing.
This movie is one of rare movies who was shot native with 3D cameras.

I emailed them yesterday and asked "is the upcoming Blu Ray being released in real 3d or anaglyph?" and I got this back;

Thanks for your interest in the movie! Unfortunately, at the moment, we don’t have any more detail on the release plans than you do. You can try contacting Shudder, but you may just have to wait for the official announcement.

Sorry I can’t be more help right now.

Cancelled it but cannot understand why nobody associated with this release has no idea about the 3D standard.

If only a copy of the back cover was available. We could see if the standard 3D instructions were on it.

Angry This is unacceptable, what were they thinking?

As i see the posts on here saying that this release will most likely be only in Anaglyph 3D and not a True Blu ray 3D title (not encoded in MVC), making me not very, very happy at all about this.

I hope that's not true but if it turns out to really true, then i will not support this release, i will not buy a 3D release that's only Anaglyph, what a fail it truly is, putting this movie in Anaglyph 3D only for the home release is a very bad idea.

Like i said if this is presented in a Anaglyph 3D only for the home release, i will not support this release.

I don't like where this is going, not one bit.

What were they thinking?

Just wondering where the "Includes Glasses" comes from. Yeah there is a post from a supposed "Producer" of the film. I checked Best Buy and Amazon and neither say anything about including glasses. Best buy does say Blu-ray/Blu-ray 3D. Neither listing on BB or Amazon really give any details about the release. I do find it weird that they both have two different pre-orders that seem identical. There is nothing on the Found Footage 3D Facebook page, the last thing there is that it was going to be on Shudder, no new info on a Blu-ray release or anything after that.
