Review at DVDTalk. Can't wait for this one! Looks like cool 3D and lots of nudity is never a bad thing.

Interesting! Possibly the first emphasized pop-out? The toes are within the 1.37:1 aspect ratio and still in native 3D, not like the 2D effects breaking the bars in Ghostbusters.

This was done on set with a masking box. Dan had said they were inspired to do this scene by a 1950's short by the Spottiswoode brothers doing somewhat of the same thing.

Looooong before "G-Force" or "Ghostbusters"...

I'm a bit nervous about the mention of de-interlacing artifacts late in the film, suggesting analog sources. Does this mean we see interlacing lines like in a video that isn't properly de-interlaced? Those can be very annoying. I won't be able to see my copy until after I open it for Christmas.

Default Huh?

That "dvdtalk" review mentioned 3dFilmArchive. It's my understanding that they had nothing to do with it. Dan Symmes did the restoration/3dMaster a while ago and a subsiderary(sp?) of Kino did the distribution.

Correct- This was done back around 2006, with the master elements formatted as 1080/24p.

I ordered directly from Kino and received this yesterday. Just watched the almost half hour (approximately 28:24) Experiments in Love and this extra feature alone is worth the price of the whole disc. Interestingly the main feature is listed as rated R and they even made the Jezebel logo stereoscopic!

If you crave 3-D pop-out, you can't get much better than EXPERIMENTS IN LOVE on the new 3-D Blu-ray of THE STEWARDESSES.

Shot by Mr. 3D Daniel L. Symmes, this short has off-screen effects in spades!

Watching this now, about 10min in. Holy shit this is gonna be a slog.

I'm hopeful the short will be more engaging.

Still this is a wonderful piece of film history, and a necessary 3D Blu-ray. I imagine I'll be 10x as bored should I ever be so fortunate as to sit through Bwana Devil 3D.

Now I'm confused, Greg. I've just received my copy which is labeled for the original copyright of 1969 and Kino's copyright of 2016, but the outside cover and the disc itself also reads "copyright 2009 3-D Film Archive LLC"

I think Greg was just confirming that the credit for the 3-D restoration/remastering belongs entirely to Dan Symmes. The copyright is another matter.

I presume Dan Symmes did the work around the same time he was involved with Inferno. It impresses me no end that he was such a pioneer in 3-D from the dark days of 3-D in the 1960s right up into the digital era.

I watched this last night and the Stewardesses is just as odd and strange as it was 3 years ago at the 3D Film Expo. The only difference was that the colors were more bright and vivid on my OLED display. The only positive I can give to the film is that I enjoyed the scene at the theme park.

I enjoyed Experiments in Love more than the main movie, since this short film has more cheeky humor and doesn't try to take itself so seriously. Skinflicks are easier to stomach for me when they are light and fun and don't try to be something they're not. Experiments in Love gets the formula down pat, while The Stewardesses just wallows around searching for it's identity. And like Bob explained above, it has plenty of pop-outs.

Would I have paid 19 bucks just for Experiments in Love? After watching it again 3 years later, I'll say yes. The 3-D is excellent, it's funny, and it comes with a nice view. ;-)

Agree with every single thing you say. And------the 2 babes in "Experiments" were a lot more pleasant to look at, plus, it shortness worked for it. The gimmicky pop-outs reminded me of a William Castle 3d film, only on steroids

Yeah. I picked this up blind just for the curiosity factor. And I agree that the Experiments in Love short is actually more appealing than the main feature! I was surprised when I started it that it was so long, but then I was happy because it had so many fun 3D pop out effects.

As for The Stewardesses, it's one of those rare movies that are so bad that they're good, but then actually start to become so bad that they're actually just bad. It really rides that line for me. It could have been cheesy fun, but it's just SO badly made it's kind of insane. At first I thought it odd that it was square, and the framing was so terrible that I wondered if it had been cropped from widescreen. But then that microphone hovering in the right side of the frame on the airplane scene made me realize it wasn't. (And boy did that think pop more in 3D!)

I think it's fine for the price, although I wouldn't suggest paying more than $20 for it. But for a slice of classic 3D cheese, it's not bad. And as everyone else has agreed, the Experiments in Love short is actually worth it!

Yes, the framing is that bad. Dan scanned the original camera negative and you're seeing everything captured on the film.

I just got my copy today. I don't remember the framing being that bad but the few bits of it I've watched have been atrocious. This is not only a bad 3-D movie, it's a horribly shot bad 3-D movie. Not a good combination.

I just opened my copy on Christmas and finally took a quick look at it last night. Haven't watched the whole thing through yet. It looks wonderful for what it is. Strong 3D and the image quality looks very good. Also took a look at Experiments in love and I can see already that the pop-outs are crazy in that one. This looks to be a very fun double-feature and I'm thrilled to have it on disc. Sure the movie is likely not very good, but the experience in 3D looks like a lot of fun, and that's the point.
