Can you imagine -- a Florida fan blind-sides an OSU player at a restaurant, forcing brain surgery, and in the process takes him out for the year.

These are the kinds of idiots I'm surrounded by: Florida fans.

They can't drive, they can't spell, they like jean shorts, and they beat up college kids over a game. They should be embarrassed by their antics and that of their players, but they're oblivious.

Never understood how people can judge and entire group of people by an isolated crime. People don't go to jail by team choice.

Seriously, if it wasn't that guy he beat up it would be the guy in line at block buster for looking at his girl friend. The guy is a moron, and people get beat up for even more senseless reason across the country. All of it is stupid.

I am a Florida fan and I don't know that guy could care less about that guy. We don't all sit around and invite each other to our homes because we wear Florida jersey's. The guy is an idiot even if he was a Ohio fan. Being a fan of any team doesn't make people more ignorant then anyone else. Acting like we are one group of people all working together a whole is.

Does anyone here enjoy going to high school games as well? I usually try to go to a few of my old high school games. It's pretty cool to watch. Anyone die hard high school?

I occasionally go to my old high school's football games, but only in the playoffs. Last year they lost in the state finals, 2 years ago they lost in overtime in the state semifinals, and 5 years ago they lost in the finals. My junior year of high school we lost in the finals as well. We were always good but never could pull it off.

Getting really anxious for college football to start. NFL preseason is alright but I want real games. Going to the Iowa-Northern Iowa game on September 5. Think Iowa will win but Northern Iowa is the number 4 FCS team and should be able to put up a fight, especially considering 2 of Iowa's offensive lineman are suspended and a starting defensive back just got injured for the year. Iowa is a great tailgating school. The game is at 11:00 am so we'll start tailgating at 6:00 (after drinking until 3 the morning before) and then tailgate after the game and then head to the bars around 5:00. I'm getting too old for this but it's still fun to do 2 or 3 times a year.

Never been to Iowa. I've tailgated at many schools, and it's funny how different the tailgate scenes are.

I went to UGA and tailgating there is like you describe in Iowa (except we don't have 11:00 a.m. games. Earliest is 1:00 p.m.). Beautiful place to tailgate. For 7:45 p.m. games, we're there all day, and get back to Atlanta around 2:00 a.m. Impossible to find a hotel on game weekends in Athens, so we don't stay to go to the best college bar scene in the universe. Did plenty of that in college.

I also went to FSU. Tailgating scene there is miserable. Gravel parking lots. No shade. Yuck.

I also grew up in Wisconsin, so I tailgated at lots of UW games. Great memories. Big 10 people do it right -- especially with food.

I'll only make it to 1-2 UGA this year, unfortunately.

My parents went to the Northern Iowa-BYU game last year. Not surprisingly there is no tailgating at BYU.

My in-laws went to the UGA @ Arizona State game last year. No tailgating there, either.

I think it's safe to say that no one does tailgating like Big 10 and SEC fans.

Speaking of college football, I saw The Express last night on HBO in HD. Great film. I loved it. Need to buy the Blu-ray.
