Yes, it would be quite an appealing package if they would have included "It's The Easter Beagle", "Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown", and "It's Arbor Day, Charlie Brown" (one of the funniest). Instead we get the same pairings of lesser known specials all over again. I've always wondered if it's because it forces fans to buy more individual releases that way. If all the gems were included on one set, they wouldn't sell much of the other specials that aren't as popular. Still sad that they don't see fit to do a really great release of all the very best. It would be such a treasured best seller.

Like I said in the announcement thread on the main page I am not sure these can look much better on 4K but I am still tempted to buy them i just wish they included the Easter, New Years, and valentines specials. The price on the set doesn't seem to high for a 4K release so if its lower in stores then I will be very tempted to pick this up since I do not own the original blu-ray set. Overall I think its good to see these types of classic animation getting a 4K release

Easy pass, but I like the variety of release. Classic Disney titles would be great if they aren't passed through the filter of death.

I wish Disney would release their Silly Symphonies and 30-40s Mickey Mouse on a BluRay set or sets more than any of the old Disney animated movies.

Also is there a listing anywhere yet to pre-order this? The page here has no preorder email notification and I don't see it on Amazon yet.

Bizarre choice for a 4K set, but whatever.

I'm up for hearing Charlie Brown saying "Good grief" in 2160p.

Yes, and hearing Sally go off on Linus in the Pumpkin Patch. That's going to be quite a spectacle in 4K. It will rival the action scenes in Avatar. "What a fool I was! I could have had candy apples and GUM! And cookies and money and all sorts of things! But NO..!"

Why? Comparing HD and SD, dirt and scratched look worse in SD. Why would that change with 4K?

I'm very curious about the quality of these discs. As far as I know there is no 4K release with traditional animation anywhere.

They remaster it on the bluray so they cleaned up the print a little, but unless they do a Disney style restoration, the scratches and dirt are still there. They will resolve finer but it's not like they are going to go away.

I would love to see Akira or the Studio Ghibli films on UHD. As much as I love Disney I doubt their titles will benefit that much from 4K considering how much DNR has been applied to most of them. Robin Hood looks like it has stained glass backgrounds, and the less said about Sword and the Stone, the better. But titles like Great Mouse Detective look lovely probably because they weren't "worthy" of such treatment.

I am not the biggest Peanuts fan, but this release really makes me happy as a traditional animation fan.

Yeah I love that some traditional animation is coming. Not sure I'll replace the Blu's though.

Easy day one for me as I never purchased the Blu-ray set. I always wanted to, but there was always something better. I'll wait until I can buy the full set. Can't wait to see how hand drawn animation looks in 4K. It may not be all that significant but I will support this for their future endevours.

In the meantime, I hold out hope for the Disney classics to be released on 4K Blu-ray. Sure some of their films were murdered with the DNR, but not all of them. I would personally give up an arm to see Sleeping Beauty in 4K and HDR. I thought that remaster was gorgeous!

This is up for pre-order from Bull Moose for $29.97. I pre-order all of my movies from them, they usually ship early and I've always gotten my movies either 1-2 days before release or on the release date.

Free priority shipping if you spend $50+, they have a lot of good prices on pre-orders.

And the thing about Bullmoose is that they just put it up for pre-order whenever, as long as they know they can get stock. It's not like BestBuy and Amazon where it's up then down or not available until shortly before release. If they can get it, you can buy it! Hell, even if they don't have something you can ask them and they'll track it down for you.

I just love Bullmoose.

Doesn't Bullmoose immediately charge your card for preorders? It's the thing about Best Buy that I absolutely hate. I was once locked into a preorder and it refused to credit me with a price match for a much lower release-day price on Amazon.
