Those dubs are absolutely fantastic! Creative and unique. Hopefully they eventually get an official US release.

I just listened to the first podcast. William had some very interesting stuff to tell. Really enjoyed listening to him.

Glad you enjoyed listening to him. William Winckler is one of the best guests I've ever had and it's a toss up between him and Bey Logan for my favorite. Such an awesome guy!

So would the problem this set has playing on PS4s carry over to PS3s?

Unfortunately yes. The stutter affects both PS3 & PS4 and therefore makes this wonderful Blu Ray boxset completely unwatchable on those systems.

The Blu Ray set is cleaner than the DVDs. I don't think the show can look any better unless Toei decides to release the original masters in HD. Discotek did a tremendously beautiful job on the transfers. Now if only Sony would do an update for their PS3/4 Blu Ray players to correct the nonsensical stutter a lot of people would be very happy.

To be clear, the PS3 has a stuttering effect but it is nowhere near as bad as the PS4's stuttering, which is super jerky and probably unwatchable in a lot of cases. PS3 has some stuttering on pans but it's really quite mild.

To be clear, the fact that the stutter exists at all is unacceptable. Why should those of us who rely on PS3/4 for games and Blu Rays have to buy another player just to enjoy FOTNS? It's ridiculous and Sony should have already solved the glitch.

Anyone who is watching the episodes further in can comment if the sub mistakes are fixed like missing lines and spelling errors? They were present on the DVDs.

I received mine on Saturday however the first disc seems to have a fault. The subs don't always display. It's exceptionally weird. I select the subtitles before playing the episodes, they are displayed but at some point during the episode they sometimes disappear without warning but not every time. For example during the scene in episode 1 where Bat and Kenshiro are sharing a jail cell the subs just vanished mid-viewing first time I watched it, restarting the episode and fast forwarding to that scene and they were back again! The strange thing is it keeps doing this on DIFFERENT episodes and it has the same issue on multiple players. So odd. I'm a bit fed up as I was really looking forward to watching this again. Guess I've got to return it to amazon US and get a replacement sent

I think it is just to look like you are saving more than you actually are. The coupon puts the price 40% off the base MSRP so whatever price they had before the sale shouldn't effect anything.

It goes down to $48.57 with coupon + GA discount.

I get it, and the price with coupon and GA is great, but it’s still a bad business move in my opinion.

To pissedoffPeon: I got my replacement from Amazon yesterday for the faulty discs. I've only just started rewatching the series but are there any specific episodes you can remember that were subbed with errors or missing lines? I'd be willing to have a look through those episodes and report back. It's going to take me a good while to get through the whole set though.

Because I've had a busy few days I've only made it through the first few episodes. The phrasing seems pretty good and I haven't seen any spelling mistakes yet, no missing lines either.

As someone who has done quality checking on subs before those kinds of errors drive me absolutely NUTS. I'll be sure to report back with anything I find.

This is one of my all time favourites, the 86 movie was what got me into anime in the first place. I'll be pretty sad if there's anything wrong with this release further down the line.
