Brandon: Batman Begins does NOT use the newer 4K transfer for the pack-in BD, it's the previous transfer given a new AVC encode and DTS-HD 5.1 audio (old release was VC-1 and Dobly TrueHD 5.1). Same situation with The Prestige, as you've already noted.

Spider-Man 1 and 3 (Raimi ones) use the newer Mi4K transfers for the refreshed Blu-rays included with the UHDs. But, in case you're wondering, Spidey 2 does not because they re-used the old branched 1080p transfer for both cuts of the film (Mi4K remaster was for theatrical only).

Updated re: Batman Begins, thanks! So re: Spider-Man 1 and 3, I'm not clear if you think they should be on the list or not, or if you were just providing general info on those releases for anyone wondering - which is always appreciated! Are the "refreshed" Blu-rays any improvement from the original Mi4K releases, such as encode, audio, etc?

They're the Mi4K transfers with a smaller encode. But it's your list, you decide what to do with them!

Do you think the 1080p versions don't look as good as the 4K or even previous Blu-rays? Do they focus on doing the 4K primarily and then just take it and downscale it to 1080p and convert it to SDR?
