I always watch a disc I buy to to make sure they work so I can take it back, it's not ALWAYS the first night but I try to watch it the same night I get it and it's always in the first week at least and well within the return window. I also open them before I leave the parking store's lot, because on more than one occasion I've bought something new from a retail store and it was missing a disc...

Though there are some exceptions. I have about 15 or 16 titles currently that still haven't got around to yet that I've gotten from DMC enrollments, DMR rewards, or cheap on Black Friday (two of BF titles have been released on 4K so I'll probably skip those anyway), and one from Sony's reward thing from registering 5 discs... and I have some more coming from DMR's recent clearance sale. I've seen all the movies before though, I just was never in a rush to watch them on disc.

I also have Friends, Community, and Downton Abbey on BD that I've never finished watching all of them, but I'll get to those eventually but shows obviously take longer than a movie lol

I don't buy locally really at all anymore, so, no. The day I buy is never the day I could even do that. Even when I do a to-pick-up online order, my GF won't get it the day of purchase. The day I receive an order -either picked up, or package sent- will be too exciting not to watch at least one of the discs.

That kinda shit (same day watch) is a relic of my mid 20's on the previous format. Brother and I would do movie nights. He'd go to JB's or Sanity and get 50$ of blu-rays (2 for 20's, 2 for 30's for catalog titles were always so ripe with choice from 2010 onward) and we'd choose at least one staple childhood movie.

Hardly ever due to lack of time. I've currently got 6 films and 3 tv shows (complete seasons) to watch.

I try to. If I do, it's usually by myself whereas if I wait later in the week, I have friends over.

No. Rarely anyway. We just buy most items on release to make sure we have a copy, lol; most often with slip or as a steelbook. It often takes us months to watch a bought movie/tv show. We have more than 50 TV shows on disc...and that's just TV shows. Plus all of the TV episodes that release during May-September. Plus rewatches. Add to that all of the movies we've yet to watch...so it's a time issue. We spend like 3 hours in front of the tv each day (more on some days), but we buy things faster than we can watch it, lol. Especially because we also like to rewatch most of the things we see.

Very rarely these days. I've kind of hit that collector saturation point where I have thousands of movies but instead end up flipping through Netflix.

What is even the point in buying physical then if you just plump for Netflix? Your life man. But wow, just wow.

I'll usually watch them pretty soon, if not that day. Currently I only own four movies I've not seen at all; two of them are fairly recent acquisitions, and one I just bought this week.

99% of the time it's that night, or at the worst, the following day. The only time I don't is when it's a series of movies. I got the Matrix trilogy a few weeks back and still haven't watched them... I will wait for the right weekend to enjoy them.

yup. absolutely.
i pick up the new uhd's from either best buy/wal mart, buy a bottle of Bacardi, and spend the day a/bing both the older/included blu vs the uhd presentation.
actually, it's been a cool way to bond with my work manager. i try to give him the inserted digital code, then when i drop off work to him i'll drop of the uhd disc. it's kind of a cool way to bond with people over movies we've seen over and over, but with uhd it's like we see them in a new light.

If it's a new release I will usually watch it within the first couple days up to a week of its release at the latest.

Other movies I buy when I feel it's a good deal or a movie I really wanted to get and haven't yet I normally won't watch right away.

Almost never.

But I would definitely do so when Synapse's Suspiria UHD arrives!

I buy movies 5 to 10 titles every other week. I usually watch as many as I can on the weekends to try to catch up, but I have a stack of movies I haven't watched yet. I always watch titles I haven't seen first then maybe one day I'll get to all those Marvel flicks.

If it's one for "me", then usually yes, after my wife goes to bed. If it's for "us", it gets watched on Sunday afternoon.

Rarely ever... unless it's something I've been dying to see. I think I watched John Wick 3 on a Thursday after getting it on Tuesday.

In the past year and a half, after getting married, my wife being pregnant and now with a four month old girl, my viewing has slowed down considerably. Three to five movies a week is now about one. It's tough to hunker down in the theatre room with the Atmos cranked up when you're a new dad, know what I mean?

My collecting has always outpaced my watching, but I'm about 900 titles behind now (although I have seen roughly 3/4 of them before).

Well at least the wife and I are going to stay entertained when we get to the old folks home!
