That slip does look a little nicer than one might expect.

I am thinking in the 75 to $120 dollar range(and thats only till WB issues individual copies of or a double feature set of JGTH, JasonX.)
I think once JGTH and Jason X get releases the set will plummet even more.
Don't count on it. There will always be a demand for the tin set, due to it being OOP. Regardless if Warner re-releases JGTH and JX.

Just look at the 15 disk Halloween boxset. It still goes for $200+ despite the fact that you can buy all those films individually with no problem, including the producers cut of H6, as well as the standard box set.

The tin set will still go for around $200.

There are still features in that deluxe box that aren't available on the standard box set or the seperate producers cut release of H6 though.

In anycase it wont stay at the outrageous level it is at now.
it might still have a somewhat premium price, but wont hold that 300-500 price that its had mostly since it went oop.
even now, somone on amazon marketplace had it for 119 a few weeks back.

Ive been collecting movies long enough to know everything oop drops back to a reasonable price at some point.

Here's my saga when it comes to obtaining this Friday the 13th: 8-Movie Collection as a backup copy to supplement my Complete Collection tin.

1. I ordered this months ago, when it was listed at $31.99.

2. I received an email from Amazon two days ago informing me that they were having trouble securing the item.

3. I checked and realized that this particular item had disappeared from the Amazon radar, but that the exact same 8-Movie Collection was available for $25.79 from Amazon through another link. I placed an order for that after cancelling the first order, and I received it in the mail today.

What what say what? Amazon will be Amazon, I guess. I'm just happy to get it for a lower price.

I'm looking forward to revisiting these films this weekend.

Received my set in an Amazon bubble mailer.

Slipcover was torn at the edges and pretty banged up. No floaters, fortunately.

Amazon can do better than this rubbish bubble envelope.

They have been like this for over a year with me no matter how big item was how large of a set it was or how fragile or cost all sent in a Jiffy bag, items I never knew you could fit in a Jiffy bag and biggest Jiffy bags I ever seen, I try and keep away from them but it's hard when sometimes nobody else offer it.
Like you I got this set damaged slipcover but I'm other side of work you would think a Jiffy bag would be last thing the use.
Simply amazon don't care these days get them out to you as cheap as they can.

Best Buy Rounding Out The Horror Blu Collection

Hi guys. Nice chat about the FT13 8-Disc Collection. I too skipped the Tin version many times, and when this was announced, I wanted it. But I waited because the best deals were from 30 to 25 bucks.

This past Saturday Best Buy is selling it for $19.99, and I bought the last copy in store, with perfect Slip.

This is a great set. Sorta amazes me that with some that are 2 movies per disc that the PQ is still so good. I recommend it to any Friday fan.

I wanted to add that I still want JGTH & JX. One of the reasons I skipped the tin was "Hell" was only in "R" version, and honestly that movie to me only works with that cut SFX. JX was only rated I believe, but I want the full on the other. Also, I recently found out that "Tin's" exclusive bonus DVD is the exact same bonus disc in the DVD box set from the 00's, so I already have it. And I can live without the book & swag. I already owned FVJ & the Friday reboot, so I'm set there too.

Anyway, glad I got it at the price I wanted & hopefully New Line, or someone else, re-releases JGTH/JX as they should. I now am closer to completing my Horror Icon collection. Just need a few more Texas Chainsaw, Hellraiser, and the recent Jigsaw flix to finish.

Those of us who waited for this set over the tin is going to feel soooo vindicated when Scream Factory announces Collector's Editions of Jason Goes to Hell and Jason X at SDCC.

If Scream Factory is releasing Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation and Exorcist II: The Heretic, then JGTH and Jason X are definitely not out of the question.

I just finished up a marathon of all the films tonight. No regrets buying the tin here. I'm quite pleased with it. It only took me years to get around to watching it though. They do all look awesome on Blu-ray, with the exception of Part III, which is just a bit rough in 2D. I don't remember how much - if - better it looked when I watched my individual release in 3D, quite a few years back.

I would definitely get Jason Goes to Hell - as I'm sure they'd release the unrated version (never even watched that R-rated bluray, kept my DVD - I know the digital copy was unrated but I want it on disc). But Jason X - not sure if I would only because it already looks and sounds great! More special features probably wouldn't entice me as much for that one.

But do they have rights to these films is the big question.

Both JGTH and Jason X are with Warner Brothers/New Line, so I don't think it would be too hard for Scream to pick them up.

I've had Amazon ship multiple movies at once in those awful jiffy bags. Not just movies either. Books, card games, it doesn't matter. Anything they can stuff in those bags, they do it. And they don't care about the value of the item or how fragile it is, either. It's horrible, and even when I've called on several occasions to ask for a replacement for a damaged item due to that practice, and specifically asked them to ship the replacement in a box, they still send the replacement in the same type of bag. Even when they assure me they will make a note to ship it in a box. They just don't care. Sometimes they use huge mailer bags for larger items. They refuse to use a box. And then randomly, I'll actually get a box once in a while from them. Obviously for very large items they use a box, but then they use almost no packing material. And for some reason they insist on shipping my stuff packed upside-down!

I'm not a huge fan of either film, but I'd go for a Scream Collector's Edition of those (preferably as a single-release double-feature).
