...unless he really wants to see Up With People or Elvis Presto at halftime. Most of the major teams have a similar collection. Even The Browns got a three disc set. And Da Bears got the majority of their 1985 season released. Last edited by ElectricPeterTork; 02-03-2018 at 03:13 PM. |

No, the Greatest Games sets are full games so they used the 1980 Dave Logan game, opening day '89, and the 2002 game where they made the playoffs.
Now, the History Of... documentary series has a Browns entry, and that's where you would find a two minute bonus feature covering the best moments of The Browns post-1995. Though what they did with the other minute forty five seconds is anyone's guess. |

I think as long as disc reading technology exists, we are safe with our library.
Disc reading technology has been going for 30+ years now and is backwards compatible. We can all still play CDs in our 4K players. I know the videogame companies were talking of going disc-less and if that was the case, would hurt home physical media playback. But...they are far away from that considering games are 50 - 75 GB. Game systems would have to have huge hard drives to hold these games and I could imagine how much punishment their servers would take when a new release game would come out. |

I finally just moved into a place of my own this past year. I'm happy to say that because of my large-ish blu-ray and dvd collection, and my $70/month unlimited plan on my iPhone, I don't have or need cable, internet, or phone service at my apartment. The upside of which is that I have more money to build my film and show collections.

Pepper's ( enhanced) for $1.00 at a pawn shop & there are many used shops like half priced books to buy CD at plus online stores and yes I am old and think that the best music is from 1960-1989 |

Digital downloads of music on Amazon and iTunes will be the next to disappear. Amazon already pulled their music uploading feature. I still buy some physical media. Music mostly on CDs or vinyl. Movies just a few discs here & there. Majority of my movie & TV show watching is streaming. Not interested in upgrading to 4K discs. I've been through all the formats since VHS. Enough is enough. Just go to a record shop or online for CDs. Big vendors are mostly useless for buying music, especially if you're into underground stuff like I am.

Exactly. BB and Target are mostly useless regarding physical media. My tastes require that the bulk of my purchases are online. But I guarantee I will stick with physical media until the day I die, which had better be a darn long time from now. I have a big (and growing) pile of movies I have not seen.

Oh, definitely physical media for me. I'll always enjoy my DVD's and Blu-rays for movies in the same way I enjoy my old vinyl LP's and CD's for music.....even though they take up a lot of space in the house.

yeah that's what I do too. There's a music shop near my work. Been going there since I was a kid. They get all kinds of stuff. Or just buy online. Amazon or from the band websites.

Had a conversation with a pawn shop clerk who says he has all of his DVD’s and BluRays packed away in his basement because he only streams now. I told him he better not get rid of them because you never know when a movie will be available to stream. He also said they pay 25 cents for DVD’s. At that rate it’s no point in selling them anyway.
