Yup, was coming here to post Vincent's review, but you beat me to it
![]() ![]() ![]() He mentions that black zonal insertion is mostly beneficial for sports and those who like the soap opera effect. Presence of blooming can't compete with OLEDs, and color gamut is slightly disappointing, but peak brightness is over 1,000 nits. I felt he was being a bit hard on the TV, but that's because last year's TVs set the bar high. Sounds like only incremental improvements over last year's TVs rather than anything omg major. ... Interesting comment that he thought Vizio and TCL could give this TV a run for its money. Makes me rethink things as I mull my next purchase. |

I have my eye on this TV for my next purchase which will probably be in November.
I'm trying to decide between 65" or go 75". 65" + I can just use the same TV 3 in 1 stand I have now & be done. 75" - I will have to buy wall mount, pay for installation & get a new stand for audio gear. - Big leap in price over the 65" |

Has there been updates on Dolby vision over HDMI?
Last I heard on some site was that Oppo 203 has sent it for validation for Dolby vision. |

Yes, the 900F Dolby Vision updates is available. Here's the link.
This is not what's needed to make OPPO or LG's BD players to work with any Sony TV equipped with the flagship X1 Extreme processor. The issue is that Sony TVs use Dolby Vision profile 5 that includes DV Low Latency profile and OPPO and LG BD payers do not support profile 5. |

So you’re confirming that the 2018 Sony’s still only support Profile 5 - Low Latency. Hopefully the X-1 Ultimate on the next generation will go full profile. Until then, still waiting on the Oppo firmware which they say is getting fine tuned. |

I have the Sony XBR75X940D with HDR10, great tv but am I really missing alot seeing that it doesn't have Dolby Vision? Paid $4,200 for this a year and a half ago. Been looking at the Sony XBR-75X900F which is going for $3,500 right now, should I sell my 940D for around $2,000 and go with the 900F? I have the cash stashed but it's the wife I gotta worry about!!
