Hoping Super Troopers can hold for Saturday and Sunday. I was a little baffled when people were predicting $6 or $7 million for the entire weekend. So glad that low figure was passed already.

Not enough comedies out right now.

Blockers held up well considering direct competition from 2 new movies.

I have seen no ads or anything for ST2 so a little surprised it's doing good. I think the closest theater to me that is playing is an AMC Mall 8 cinema about 40 mins away. My local theater just got that I Feel Pretty movie and most of the patrons here were mad about it coming because it meant that I Can Only Imagine was being taken off and for the last month my theater has sold at least 80% of the tickets to almost every showing of it

Also worth mentioning, Super Troopers is on 2000 screens while I Feel Pretty is on 3500 and A Quiet Place and Rampage are both double at 4000.

Yeah, one of the small town theaters about a half hour away was tormented by Christians on Facebook for two weeks until they started playing I Can Only Imagine. Everything they would post promoting what was playing, all the comments were "why are you playing this garbage, nobody wants to see this, where is I can only imagine?!?!"

Well, yesterday was 4/20 after all. I do expect a bigger drop for it today and tomorrow compared to I Feel Pretty. So either that or A Quiet Place should still win the weekend.

You were right, I was wrong.

I had no idea Super Troopers had $60 mil in home video rental revenue (not including sales, acc/to deadline) - that's strong. I knew it was a cult classic, and a well regarded one by people, but its tough to overcome that release gap for comedy.
