I'm just glad you don't need to buy the new console to play this. Really can't afford throwing down on 2 new consoles so MS stance on cross gen is perfect. I just wish they could get rid of that horrid series x sticker.

Are we sure that the series X sticker isn't just on the shrink wrap?

Hopefully tcripe is right and it is just a sticker on the shrinkwrap.

I really hope it's gone back to it's routes, open world exploration before it was canned and remade for OG Xbox as a linear story shooter.

Destiny became what Bungie had originally created Halo to be. So it would be great to see it finally release in that format.

Honestly, I thought overall MS' event was really good but Halo was the most disappointing thing to me. I don't know what I was expecting but I thought Destiny 2 running on XSX was more impressive. :shrugs:

I wonder when they are going to show off MP or release the beta? I remember they released a beta for Halo 5 like almost a year before the game was released.

They said they will be having another show in the coming months since they didn't show off all their studios today. I'm guessing they will be saving it for closer to release.

Idk if it's a rumor or not but I heard there's going to be another presentation in August so it could be shown there. Also rumored to show off the Project Lockhart in the same presentation so I hope this does happen soon.

I've been watching the 4K60p upload of this and honestly it's not that best looking game I've seen for next gen. Not that that means anything at all. But there's visible grass and scenery popping up on screen when he's moving about.

It looks nice but it's far from demo material for what next gen could do.

Some Halo Infinite details

- 343 views Infinite as a 'platform' that grows over time
- Infinite is the last standalone release for the foreseeable future
- new story content will be for Infinite
- Free raytracing update coming after launch

I guess this game just isn't ready yet. Post release updates should hopefully make this look like a proper next gen title.

I guess they had to make sacrifices to hit 60fps at 4K?

Halo Infinite 2 Won't Be Happening, Says 343 Industries

Bungie, the studio that created Halo, is famously obsessed with the number seven. It is why there are seven Halo rings, for instance, and references to it can be found in many other places in both Halo and Destiny. But with 343 Industries and Microsoft now in control of Halo’s future, it seems that Bungie will never get the chance to see “Halo 7” on a store shelf. That’s because 343 is treating this holiday’s Xbox Series X flagship launch title Halo Infinite as “the start of our platform for the future.”

IGN spoke with Halo Infinite Studio Head Chris Lee ahead of today’s long-awaited gameplay reveal of Halo Infinite at the Xbox Games Showcase. During that conversation, Lee revealed that Infinite is the last standalone release for the franchise for the foreseeable future.

“Halo Infinite is the start of our platform for the future,” he said. “We want Infinite to grow over time, versus going to those numbered titles and having all that segmentation that we had before. It’s really about creating Halo Infinite as the start of the next ten years for Halo and then building that as we go with our fans and community.”

This does not mean that Halo Infinite is a live service game, a la Destiny. But it does mean that new story experiences will be told underneath Infinite’s umbrella, and it also means Infinite will be evolved technologically for quite a while. 343 confirmed that Infinite will get a free raytracing update sometime after launch. Gameplay-wise, hopefully the move to Infinite as a platform won’t mean that players are trapped on this Halo ring forever, but we’ll have to wait and see what 343 has in store for us in the Xbox Series X generation to find out.

Based on everything that was shown at the event Halo looked the worse graphically. I mean it isn't even good compared to other current gen games. Surprising considering that it is their flagship series and it still looks like a 360 game.
