Right now, there is a 20% code, off a full year for Shudder, of "JBB2019" according to Joe Bob Briggs on Twitter.

So that'd be $37.60 in total. Damn! Can I do that while already a monthly member or would I probably have to start up a new account?

Holy shit, they just added a version of Dracula from 1974 with Jack Palance as the count?!? I must watch this tomorrow night!

Ooooh, wait until Black Friday and gamble on an even better price or take the coupon code now. Bird in the hand, bird in the bush. . . .

I would imagine that they would just tack on the year to the end of the free month.

Found this over on A/V Club:

Quote:
It still feels way too early to be sipping Pumpkin Spice Lattes and wearing cozy sweaters outside, but it’s never too early to turn of all the lights, close the curtains, and spend a few days watching an endless marathon of horror movies. The cable networks have mostly backed away from their old month-long Halloween celebrations, when you could always trust that there’d be one or two crummy Friday The 13th sequels on at all times throughout the month of October, but luckily the Shudder streaming service is here—as always—to pick up the spooky slack.

As announced in a press release today, Shudder will be debuting a new original movie every week from now until Halloween, along with a collection of legitimately good horror classics (given the horror selection on some of Shudder’s streaming competitors, that is a true blessing). The Shudder originals all have snappy names like Satan’s Slaves, Revenge, Terrified, Witch In The Window, and True Horror, and the non-originals include Halloween, a couple Halloween sequels, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and a bunch of Alfred Hitchcock movies. Those are coming on the first two days of October, but again, the originals will be hitting every week from now until the end of next month.
Sweet!

(We really need a "gush about Shudder thread")

Why did someone rename the thread? This was for The Last Drive-In and Joe Bob Briggs, not Shudder in general. If someone wanted to start a general Shudder thread they could have. Can someone put it back the way it was please? (Or at the very least, make it "Joe Bob Briggs on Shudder" since more marathons and a series are now planned.) Threads shouldn't be re-named/re-focused without the OP's permission, unless the OP is no longer around.

Have any of you guys checked out the movie Sam was Here on Shudder? It's creepy weird and mysterious. I kinda love it, even though it really doesn't give you much closure. Still...it's well-shot and the soundtrack's super.

Thanks to whoever changed the thread title. I appreciate it. Let's keep this thread dedicated to Joe Bob and the upcoming marathons and regular series. If someone wants to create a separate general Shudder thread, who can stay more up-to-date on what they're adding and such, go for it.

I forgot to mention that soon after the news of two more marathons broke, Joe Bob shared a teaser video advertising them and the background was a blurry image from what looks like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. (Although I'm not sure which particular one.)

I wonder if that could be one of the movies for the "Dinners of Death" marathon.

Nice! Definitely an image of TCM1! Probably a theme around cannibal films..or psycho dinner parties. Looking forward to these!

As long as we don't get Home Sweet Home for the Thanksgiving selection, I'll be happy.

Blood Freak would be an awesome choice though.

I really wish I had found this forum earlier this summer. I love JBB and miss the hell out of MonsterVision. I'm subscribing to Shudder right now, in case Joe Bob is back for more. I'm really pissed I missed the news on this marathon...

Welcome to the forum, Luke. But don't worry. Shudder has the entirety of "The Last Drive-In" available for streaming or you can watch each movie individually with Joe Bob's segments still intact. Also, Joe Bob will be back for two more mini-marathons in the coming months, "The Dinners of Death" for Thanksgiving and "A Very Joe Bob Christmas" in December, plus Shudder has also announced a regular series with Joe Bob to start sometime next year.

Thanks, and that is fantastic! I just signed up for a week trial for Shudder. Lot of Arrow films streaming that I have on my wishlist. Can't wait to see him in more presentations...

If you didn't pull the trigger (like me, I forgot), Shudder has a 40% off code until tomorrow at 9: SHUDDERFB40

That's good enough for me. No need to wait until Black Friday!

40% off is a great deal. I'm on my 2nd year, and loved having Shudder even before JBB. I've been going through the Last Drive-In slowly, saving it for those days when I really need it.

I missed the drive-in theater marathon, that sounds like it was really cool though! I have seen all of those movies before, and love most of them, and like the rest, with the exception of Boggy Creek, which is just super boring for me personally, I can't stand to watch it anymore after the first time, it's just so slow and uneventful.

You can still watch the marathon, Callahan90, assuming you don't mean you missed it because you don't have Shudder. You can stream the whole thing or just the movies individually w/Joe Bob's segments.

With the exception of Sleepaway Camp and Hellraiser, it was my first time seeing all the other movies. I thought The Legend of Boggy Creek was pretty entertaining. The only one that really bored me was The Prowler and kind of Daughters of Darkness, but that might have only been because it was already long enough to begin with and Joe Bob's segments stretched it out even longer. Eventually, I'd like to go back and watch the movie by itself to see how it is on its own.

I wound up trying to use the 40% promo code, but I couldn't find a place on the Shudder page to change payment plans. According to the CS rep I emailed, they can only apply codes to new accounts.

But she said go and create a new account, apply the code and they'll throw in a free month for my troubles. Yeah it's a bit of a pain in the ass, but for a buck 84 a month, you can't beat that deal with a stick!

Thanks to El Fez, I was able to talk/type to a Shudder customer rep and get switched to a yearly subscription with that FB40 code. Since I paid up on the 1st of this month, they also gave me an extra month...so on October 17th, I'll be paying only $27.83. For the entire year! F yeah.

Very happy!

Just (finally) got around to watching another movie from The Last Drive-In. Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama was one of the cheesiest (and funniest) things I've ever seen. Loved the imp character. So stupid and such lame lines. Joe Bob made me laugh a ton. This is great...I'm simply savoring my journey in this until he returns.

Yeah, that imp was hilarious. My brother and I have been quoting "Have a nice trip, seeya next fall!" and "Crispy critters!" ever since The Last Drive-In.

Loved Linnea Quigley in that, too.
