At least, that's what I thought until I saw no 3D Blu-ray for They Shall Not Grow Old listed, and they did release Every Thing Must Be Fine with forced subtitles in Germany, though that probably was the licensor's stupid decision... |

Oh yes, thanks for reminding me. The only 15-rated superhero movie we've had from Warners is Suicide Squad and that's only because the BBFC said there was no way it could be cut to a 12 rating, Warners would have cut it if they could.
Germany it is then... |

https://pmcdeadline2.files.wordpress...8&h=515&crop=1 Already, the flash estimate on 30,500 screens, 100% of which are 3D, is the highest opening day ever for a WB title and the best industry opening day ever for December. The film commanded 86% market share on Friday. Online sentiment is high with a Maoyan score of 9.5, Taopiaopaio at 9.4 and Douban at 8.4. ![]() |

Saw this in IMAX3D here in China today, the conversion is not one of the best but a decent one. The conversion is done by Gener8.

Thanks for the heads up. What was the aspect ratio of the IMAX scenes in your cinema (which theatre did you go to?) and how many expanded AR shots are there?

Gener8 started as a smaller conversion studio, but judging by the 3D in the trailer below, it looks like they're amping up the 3D these days to a potentially impressive level. These are only action scenes, but there looks to be some very nice pop to the layering in much of that trailer, so it's far away from being flat or mild. Here's hoping the film is like the trailer, as sometimes they can convert the trailer separately and then tone down the main film. Quote:
Untitled.jpg Untitled 2.jpg Untitled 3.jpg Untitled 4.jpg If just going by layer separation, the foreground usually is post edited to be merged close together, to keep it from popping beyond the screen and being cut off at the limbs, while the background, at the same time, increases the double image, pushing it further back into the screen but highlighting the impressive 3D conversion in these shots anyway as far as stronger 3D layering. A nice pop to the layers in these shots, as I was hoping for with Aquaman being underwater much of the film hopefully. Last edited by Zivouhr; 12-09-2018 at 05:33 AM. |

Aquaman 3D is a must see for me, and then likely Spiderverse, though I hear the 3D is disappointing so far. |
