I'm interested in all three. "Don't you know who I am???" justifies the third film.

Only really care about X2 but if the trilogy ends up coming down to like $30 at some point then I'm fine with getting that.

I believe it was Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) and The Matrix (1999) that made superhero movies what they are today. The special effects used in X-Men (2000)[to a certain extent], Spider-Man (2002), Hulk (2003) and X2: X-Men United (2003) made anything (superhero) possible.

The use of CGI was built upon with movies like; Superman Returns (2006), The Incredible Hulk (2008) and Iron Man (2008) to get us to where we currently are.

And where we currently are isn't all that great. We are over-reliant on CGI for a lot of the big comic book tentpole movies and in the end the CGI doesn't always look that good. I understand that in order to sate the consumers' need to want to see comic book movies come to life like never before we have to use CGI. I just don't believe any of these modern CGI comic book movies hold a candle to the trailblazers back in the early 2000's. And even the 80's and 70's.

And yes we had a variety of comic book movies to come out before X-Men debuted in 2000, but only a small handful (could probably count them on one hand). Only Batman and Superman were successful, but then even they went downhill (mostly) after their first movies came out. Batman was the only one who some moderate success in subsequent movies. The other comic book movies failed to do anything at the box office and studios wouldn't touch the genre with a 10-foot pole. They avoided them like you would an 80-year old hookah. Or least it seemed that way. Comic book movies just never really took off until X-Men showed them that money actually can be made from something other than a character with the word man in it (Batman, Superman, Starman). Subsequent movies started coming out and doing big business, which in turn helped sustain the comic book movie industry to where it is now. It took a while and there were some major potholes along the way (Bat nipples and Bat butt anyone)

Clever to release the trilogy boxset only. I am hoping for a price ala Planet of the Apes trilogy. Haven't seen these films in forever.

Happily pre-ordered with my Amazon smile tag attached. When with P&P, still works out to be €60 for the lot and it might also come down in price between now and then.

Ok, I looked at the link on the main page and nowhere does it say it's 4k, unless I am missing something here.

Amazon customer service isn't any help either.

I suppose the number of discs is the indicator that it is the 4K release. The other Blu-ray Trilogy sets have 3 discs while this set has 6 discs.

Damn, this is a hard one since these movies just doesn't do it for me. The first one was alright, but it just goes downhill from there. Wonder if BestBuy is going to have an exclusive Steelbook.

I find it odd you can just skip movies where the story continues and evolves. If you own the first two and like the 4th and 5th and possibly the spin-offs. It has to be awkward if someone looks at your collection and asks: "Why do you have all but part 3 of this 8 movie collection?". Is the answer: "yeah screw that one I don't like it". lol? I mean it has to be a strong hatred for that movie. That's almost as extreme as let me watch one of my favorite movies but I always skip over minutes 20-30 because I don't like that part of the movie.

I can see for example, how you don't have Batman Forever and Batman & Robin after Batman and Batman Returns. That makes sense, It's all new actors and directors and can be looked at as a completely different series. I don't get how people own all but part 2 of the Harry Potter collection for example. It leaves a big hole in the story.

This! 100%

This stems into exclusive packaging for me, as well. I don't much care for Suicide Squad, and Justic League was just okay, for example, but I have the matching Digibooks and Steelbooks for all of the current "Worlds of DC" titles.

I didn't care much for Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, Star Wars: The Last Jedi or even Solo: A Star Wars Story, but I don't like the idea (As you mentioned) of someone looking at my collection, and seeing holes in a franchise. If I wanna show my son all of the Star Wars movies one day, I'm not gonna skip some of them, and tell him they're not important to a story that spans 11+ films.

That'd be as pointless as owning a TV series spanning several seasons, and simply choosing to not own a random one between the beginning and final seasons. Narrative gaps like that are too hard to get around for me.

I loathed A Good Day To Die Hard, and don't own it currently; but If Die Hard: Year One ever makes it out, and features the past and continuation of the story, I'll feel compelled to own it.
