There’s some fantastic costumes and makeup in this that should reveal lots of details and colours in 4K.

As others have said, Robin Williams and John Williams make this quite special, along with Hoffman.

Wished they had given him more dialogue to chew up. He could have been a more threatening Hook if given the chance. He’s played some baddies before.

DAY 1. Don't care if it stinks. I love this film dearly.

Really hope a Mondo or a Waxwork records put out the vinyl. It's real underrated.

Boom. Not sure if Roberts was used to that. The two did not get on well. Spielberg would later say it was an unfortunate time for them to work together, and Roberts bristled even at that and said Spielberg betrayed her by talking about on-set difficulties.

Anyway, to this day, Spielberg says Hook is the least favorite of his films. It has a lot of things going for it, John Williams score is just terrific -- I used to play the CD while grinding through levels of Legend of Zelda on the NES -- but ultimately, it's the script that's the real culprit. Toss in Neverland presented as essentially two land-locked sets and Neverland looking like Arizona from the air -- who would have thought Neverland could look depressing? -- and unconvincing performances from the child actors and choppy editing...it just doesn't...well, fly. Roger Ebert once said you can sense the joy artists can have when making a film. I don't sense that in Hook -- it's the opposite. I don't think Spielberg had much fun at all when making it. It shows. More to the point, you can feel it.

She had trouble getting along with Nick Nolte during the making of "I Love Trouble" also and you can tell it by watching that film. Talk about have ZERO chemistry.

As for my thoughts on the movie.... You know, I haven't really seen all of it since I got it on VHS in 1993... Well, 1994 was probably the last time I watched all of it. I don't recall if I hated Roberts performance as Tinkerbell or not... I think maybe I was indifferent to it? I remember enjoying Hoffman as Hook and Robin Williams being good enough... But the script came off as juvenile in some places. I was like 12 when I saw it, and give the type of movie that it is... If this comes off as childish to you at 12... That's not a good sign.

Watching clips... The movie does come off as feeling forced at times. There does seem to be a lack of genuine enthusiasm. These are probably the reasons why I haven't revisited the film in so long. I've went back and forth on picking up the cheap blu ray... I can't see me spending the higher price to get this on 4k.

Hopefully they make some new extras to go with it. The BD was barebones and even the DVDs hardly had anything.

Collins played the London inspector investigating Jack and Maggie's disappearance. He was only in the one scene, I believe.

He's the police investigator in the first act after the kids go missing.

Speaking of which...how in the hell did that go down the next day when the kids re-appear? Thy filed a police report.
