"Voyaging through space" was their job, you wanted them all to retire at the same time?

We know at least Troi takes a hiatus on Earth for a while while working with Barclay, and Geordi may or may not get his own ship (depending if the Timeless future still happens).

Well, I thought the ending was brilliant. It wrapped up the long running arc set up in the pilot, brought back lots of old characters then left the door open for the movies.

TNG has one of the better Trek finales. TOS doesnt have one, Voyager wraps up too quickly, DS9 drags on, and ENT is a pointless holodeck story that resolves nothing.

DS9 probably does the best job of actually wrapping up everybodies character arc. The pacing could be a lot better though, the second half gets a little too slow and reflective.

While The Original Series itself doesn't have an ending, The six movies gave it a damn near complete finale'.
Next Gen has no real ending.

From what I can tell, DS9 does. Own it, haven't watched yet.

I did see the Voyager finale' when it aired. That gave a decent closure from what I remembered.

What pissed me off was Janeway got list, lost a lot of crew and came back with slightly advanced technology and was promoted to Admiral, while Picard, who saved Earth and countless other planets many times over, was still just Captain.

Roker, Work, Data all had their own ships. If anything, Picard should have been a Fleet Admiral.

Nemesis screwed up bad, but was actually going to get a follow up, except it never materialized. So we are left with a sh*tty ending.

I wonder how long it would take Stewart to get into that kind of shape.

But, I did bring back a mug from the Vegas convention with ripped Mirror Picard on it. And a shirt that features him and some of the other characters. At some point, I've gotta check out the comic.

I'm holding out hope that we'll see a Blu-ray release. So haven't bought it yet.

Though there would have been so much more resonance if the series had actually taken the premise more seriously.

Keep in mind that Trek hasn't usually portrayed a promotion to Admiral as a great thing. When Kirk regained his captaincy at the end of Voyage Home, it was treated like a huge victory and something to celebrate.

Given that 20 years after Nemesis Riker could very well be an Admiral, it would be nice to see Picard with a higher rank.

Picard remained Captain by choice. He was offered promotion as early as season 1, in the episode Coming of Age, which he tuned down. He was an explorer, he didn’t want a desk job.

Series starts on Risa. It's Vash and Picard's 10 year anniversary. After telling him in the heat of a fight that Q was bigger than him, Picard decides he's had enough and returns to Mantaka to rule as their god after all.

He deserves better than Vash.

Janeway did not get lost. They were pulled into the Delta quadrant by the Caretaker. Considering everything they did, all the exploring, fighting and beating the Borg and all that, I'm not surprised she got promoted. Plus, she was probably done with space after such a horrendous journey and being away from home for so long.

Picard chose to stay Captain, too.

I agree about Nemesis. It was a confusing ending to me. It felt nice because you're thinking Data's not really dead, but still it wasn't Data. B4 could never fill Data's shoes.

You left out how many times she violated sacred protocols, and for more dubious reasons than Kirk. I'd list a few examples, but I have blocked a lot of the series, having given up on VOYAGER mid-run and only coming back to suffer the finale once.

A lot of great stories between there. They're worth a revisit.

I always felt we could've gotten more from ENT.

The planned 5th season with the Earth-Romulan war would have been awesome.

I finally saw the finale of Enterprise this year (SPOILERS) and it was not as horrible as everyone - including many of the cast of Enterprise itself - had warned.

It was no All Good Things to be sure. But it did have a touching moment between Archer and T’Pol, which was important because the human-Vulcan relationship was the foundation of the series.

What was a bit galling was that the episode teased but ultimately did not show a key moment in the founding of the Federation - and it felt very much as if that was being saved for a motion picture which never came.
