I rewatched End of Days last night and the subway conductor's death made me sad.

Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time. And it was gory death too.

And of course the restaurant explosion.

Not really gory but shocking and is the event that sets the plot in motion.

I know this isn't exactly what's been asked, as it's the main character of the movie and not background collateral damage, but I'd have to say that double run-over at the beginning of a romantic drama like Meet Joe Black was ridiculously unnecessarily violent.
