werd. and since my post was deleted for some reason...
bioshock is the game of the year. it will go down as one of the best games this generation, not just the year. uncharted was a solid game, but by no means game of the year, i'm not sure i would even say its the best ps3 game. ratchet or call of duty would take that honor. but uncharted certainly is the most overrated game as far as playstation owners go, its a good game guys, but will easily be forgotten when we actually get a influx of good games |

Your first post was flamebait because you basically said we only like Uncharted because there's not much else that great on PS3:

I rented Uncharted and the game seemed rather basic and simple. ALmost like a modern day Pitfall. Any game today that doesn't incorporate an online agenda shouldn't really be considered. I think of it as old school and I'll play super contra if I want old school.
Online gaming is the way of the future. Prior to me owning my ps3 last Jan, I hadn't played games in almost 15 yrs. I bought my ps3 for the blu and just out of curioustiy I rented Madden and the online aspect hooked me to where I'm worse in terms of addiction now then when I was in HS. Warhawk is 100x better then Uncharted. There are so many things you can do. You can fly the warhawk, defend the flag, pursue the flag, lay land mines for defense. Now with the new update you get the drop ship where you can fly in and pick up a teamates vehicle and take him back to base with the flag. It's almost being a kid and getting to play Army again. I love COD4 too, but I have never even tried the single player campaign, again too boring. You know where all the bad guys are going to pop up. |

People like different things. Like how some people prefer romantic comedy movies, and other horror movies. The same goes for games.
I personally LOVE Uncharted. It's not overrated to me. I have a 360, and I have CoD4, and Ratchet & Clank. I think those games are all great. But personally, Uncharted plays to my likes better. The Bioshock demo only kept a slight interest for me. It was pretty to look at, and I decided to play it once I can get it for REAL cheap. In November (maybe December) I got it on a sale on Amazon for 25 bucks. So I own a copy that is still in the plastic sitting in my games pile. I plan to play it one day, just no rush. Will I come here and say all the Bioshock fans are stupid and no way is it game of the year? No, because I know thats what they personally like, and that's great. edit: Oh, and I don't think online game is an integral 'must have' part of games. It can be an option sometimes, but I can easily live without it. I like stories, fantasy, and other worlds. I'll love single-player experiences for ever. |

In my opinion the best FPS for the PS3 is def CoD 4, there really isn't any game that compares to the combination of campaign and online experience. Although the campaign was short that takes nothing away from the total game which includes online play. It could use some improvements but still the best so far.

Easy way to combat the relatively short gameplay in COD4 single player is to start the campaign on veteran level first time round. I defy anybody to say they got through it in four hours on that difficulty level!

To me BioShock would have been better as a movie.
The vita tank system was pretty much ridiculous, and killed any challenge the game could have otherwise had. As a result, I found myself playing it purely for Atmosphere and story. I could have got that out of a movie. I could tell something was wrong when I didn't feel bad in the slightest about Kamikazi-Wrenching a big daddy to death. I had no reason not to. The story and the atmosphere were good enough that I'd call the game above average, but the adoration some have is beyond me. As a pure FPS, it was fairly weak. |

You are shortsighted. This gen has many, many years to go and games will take a quantum leap forward. Who knows, developers might even get, gasp, creative and make a few good games that aren't FPS. Bioshock will not be a Top 10 of this gen. Neither will COD4 or Mass Effect. All very good, but none truly great.
