Snyder sure but Bay has pretty much free reign due to his movies grossing so much. My understanding was that he was actively involved in editing down The Last Knight. It just seems nuts when two directors who are so well known for their visuals and making BIG movies both direct movies for bloody Netflix, to only be seen at home.

Yes, I was talking about Snyder mainly. It's a wonder he was allowed to do Watchmen the way he did. But then again, that was 10 years ago Time flies...

Agreed but I guess he'd come off the hugely successful 300 which brought him a LOT of leeway with WB. Kind of like The Wachowski's after The Matrix. The leeway from WB for those directors lasted a very long time.

Love Sin City,but Snyder's approach for 300 and Watchmen was different.He didn't simply use those graphic novels as storyboards,he reinterpreted them as strong audio-visual fever dreams with the overpowering slow- mo and such.Personally speaking,as someone who values aesthetics in cinema(not that his movies lack narrative,but this is an easy accusation to visual driven directors),I consider Snyder as one of the top directors working today.His career had a weird path after Sucker Punch though,when I first heard he was directing Man of Steel I was expecting him to do something more risky visually,like something close to the Fleischer cartoons with a cast like John Hamm as Superman and Carla Gugino as Lois.Seeing how badly his next movies were received for being too "outer there",I realize how foolish that thought was.I still enjoyed the final result though,along with BvS.But the Justice League fiasco was simply insulting,and the extreme reactions from fans are completely justified IMO.Its clear that with Army of the dead Snyder wants to "restart" his career after all this mess.Im still glad that people like him,Tim Burton or the Wachowskis,mentioned above,were given large budgets for quirky personal films.Sorry for the rant!

I wasn't a big fan of the film, hated the running zombie thing that's been overused a lot. For remakes its decent. I'm hoping this is a good film.

Ouch. In my opinion, Watchmen is a masterpiece. I've seen MoS several times, but to be honest if I had died and never seen it, I wouldn't be worried. Having seen Watchmen, if I was on my deathbed and hadn't seen that, that would be a tragedy.

Hell yeah. Larry Fong & Zack Snyder are known to create great, beautiful images. Just look at Watchmen, Sucker Punch, BvS. Especially Watchmen is one of the most beautifully shot movies I have ever seen.
