Do you live in the UK? Amazon removes VAT for orders shipped outside the UK, hence the lower price.

Hi Martin!

U.S. saves on VAT, but for overseas I choose to spend more for AmazonGlobal Priority, for security and delivery during this pandemic.

Ahh my bad , yes good idea on the safer shipping method, I have a feeling this will be better than the average D/Pixar for 3D .

I have a feeling this will be just like the average Disney/Pixar 3D presentation. Better than 2D for sure, but timid compared to what it could be.

Pixar have admitted to dialling back the 3D so it doesn't upset people who get headaches from 3D. With that approach, nothing they produce can be better than average. They actively make sure it can't be.

I know that John and I can take strongly divergent views and make them work, whereas other people will get headaches from the same images. So basically, we rely on our stereo experts to strike a balance which works for most people."

It's pathetic how they keep coming out with this lame argument, basically admitting that they cripple the 3D on all their films in order to please people who don't like 3D anyway.

I have seen it in 3D (caught it in a very empty 4DX screening the week before cinemas closed).

I loved the film. The 3D is similar to other Pixar efforts, i.e. a nice addition but not very strong.

Also saw it in a theatre. Very weak 3D. Should have watched the Imax screening instead.

We shall see, I’m just going by watching 2D trailers. You know, when you watch a film that wasn’t released as 3D but should of been and all the time your thinking ‘damn that would looked fantastic in 3D’.
Although from what I can tell you don’t buy or watch films which should of had a 3D BD release.

Anyway I was just trying to be positive/hopeful !.

Yep. Just a reminder to look out for the early pop-outs and sequences featured in trailers:

I went in with low expectations given Pixar's reputation for weak-medium 3D. Still I found the dimensionality added by the 3D throughout was very welcome (especially during sequences featured in trailers, like the canyon-crossing, angry manticore, and highway chase...) and was thankfully helped by the chosen cinematographic style. You do have to like the film itself for it to be a buy of course. Though it's not one of Pixar's greats it's definitely good enough for me to preorder in 3D!

I'm looking for a Zavvi 3D steel.

If there's anyone in the US that pre-ordered it from Zavvi and was going to cancel their order due to the updated artwork being the same as Best Buy, please let me know.

Onward 3D seems to have separate release dates per country.

Amazon UK has set a June 1, 2020 release date and Amazon Germany has set a July 16, 2020 release date.

FYI U.S. customers:
Amazon.de (Germany), just changed the estimated delivery date to the U.S.A., from July 29, to August 5 - 10th, 2020. (Note: This is not a change in the release date.)

I wouldn't buy this unless the price came down to $9.99 and it had a lenticular 3D cover and lots of extra features.

Any reason you're going with the German release over the UK release?
