I have mine and Walmart made sure to ship them on release day and not one day earlier! I must say, now that I finally have them, I do feel a little cheated that they did not re-encode Shaft on a 50GB BD and instead just put in the 25GB disc many of us already had, complete with no artwork like the two newer ones. Too bad they did not do it all the way right, but I won't complain much.
Shaft's: Big Score looks as you might expect it to until after the opening sequences. It is hazy, grainy and it always appeared as if the shooting was out of focus. You do see more impact and busier visuals do to the increase in resolution during these sequences, but things pick up once they go to the funeral and they really change over to HD once Shaft meets Bolin at the station! When you first get to Mascola's place and Pascal is making the phone call at the bar, you can now see a reflection of the sound guy in the brass vase to his left! I knew these types of scenes were better filmed, especially when they get to Asbey's place. I still don't know why they put it in stereo since it was originally in mono. I prefer mono sources to be in mono OR surround sound, as I prefer center channel action. I did not get to Shaft in Africa yet, but I expect that one to look a lot better. Overall, I am happy that we finally have the 3 Shaft films on BD, save for being short-changed on the first one. |

OTOH -- not OOS everywhere. B&N has it in stock and coupon eligible -- less the $25 if you grab a 15% off coupon ( FS at $35 and members) Of course it should be $16-18 (or less) around Father Day if the normal BN sale happens. Bullmoose has at least some instock and actually in-store in a few placed FYE 21.50 on backorder right now, but was $18 with their last 25% code Last edited by hariseldon; 05-23-2019 at 12:14 AM. |

But why when there are so many better and cheaper places to get them from
Barnes & Noble 35+tax FS with current 10% code Bullmoose $32 no tax and FS Deep Discount $35+ tax FS with current 10% code BBY $36 Tax with FS (and RZ points) WbShop $44 + tax + $8 shipping Still $10-15 cheaper to buy the Trilogy and ignore the 3rd disc if your already have it |

99% sure several people have judging from several posts above. Certainly enough to know the original is just a repackaged 1st disc and the 2 new disc and the bluray.com review is up

Did a buy Friday before last off eBay from oldies; they cross promote on the Warner Archive Facebook page a lot and have occasional if not deep sales on WAC titles. Wanted it for this weekend but haven’t even gotten a shipping notice yet.
