In for Ratatouille, maybe Inside Out and The Good Dinosaur. The rest I already have the superior metalpak, steelbook releases.

I don't know if I'll get any of these which is a real shame. I'm already in for getting all of the Marvel 4k steels and those on top of these in such quick succession I just can't justify it. Had they done no more than two steelbooks catalog titles a month (baring say series where a new film is released ala Avengers, Toy Story, etc) between Pixar, MCU, and other animated films they'd have me buy every one until the end of time.

Will pick up a few in 4k but now it's just a question of do I get the steels for those , use them as DMC commitment fulfills or wait until I come across them at pawn shops and just live with the blus if I never do.

I kind of hope there are massive print runs. Waiting for a price drop seems to be the choice with these releases because personally, $35 a pop is gonna kill my wallet.

especially no point in trying to sell how much better the old releases are when you can't buy em anymore outside of ebay. Buy the ones you like, don't buy em if you don't like em no ones twisting your arm here.

This forums filled with collectors who do that same thing with many releases buying the new disc and put in their preferred steel.
To be honest I will be absolutely appalled if they start doing this horrible styling for the animated classics. That in itself can hold up my disgust with these. Disney is going for the quick buck with these releases, and it seems to be working.

I don't see him getting upset.

He's right though and he makes good points. The art for this line is not as good as previous art and if it wasn't for the fact that the originals are so hard to find, these SteelBooks would be a hard sell.

Honestly, the Target's Finding Dory looks so much better than this version.

I'm going to get all of these new Pixar 4K steelbooks. Excellent art on each edition and I am excited to get the films in 4K for the first time!

Same boat, buddy. I've been in this game for far too long to care about how "exclusive"or how "limited" they are. I just want the damn thing for the cheapest price possible. I don't care if I have to wait.

It's more because the options just aren't very good. We'll see what the slips look like. These aren't cheap, and these steels are WAY worse than the beautiful stuff they were doing with Zaavi, which is actually collectible and worth your money. Just not feeling it at all with these.

Same thing with the Toy Story stuff. I didn't like the slips at all, and the steels were just randomly simplistic to the point 40 bucks felt like I was getting ripped off, nevermind there are hardly any improvements whatsoever on the films lol.

I'm getting to the point where 4K really isn't that special with Pixar stuff. It's a very very small improvement in most of the films I have seen.

Long are the days of those beautiful 3D lenticular slipcovers. I miss them.

And that is what it is. These things are meant for people to basically hand your paycheck over.

Made in china. Steels cost about a dollar to manufacture and paint. Discs are basically nothing. Authoring these discs is pretty much bone dead stuff outside of audio for the digital films. And the audio is nothing special.

It's pure profit. And when it seems like they really are not trying hard, as we see with these Pixar steels, well I can't reward that.

All the Zavvi steels are so far above this garbage. I kind of like the Rat one, but that is only because that Eiffel Tower Zavvi was really weird.

It leaves me in the position of mostly disgust to be honest. They had better just leave the animated classics to special designs, or I will have a cow.

Well half the films are not very popular at all. You can expect them to sit on shelves. Toy Story was the only one that sold out in places. The other two are still in stock at Best Buy, and those movies are super popular all of them. I mean you won't be convincing me to pay 40 bucks for a garbage Cars 2 steel LMAO.
