That would explain it then as Amazon tends to manufacturer their own burned copies. It most likely states "Manufactured by Amazon.com kydc, Lexington, KY" on top of the bar code? They also add a bar code to the disc. Not all burned MOD releases are equal. I tend to avoid Amazon for any MOD releases.

Why did Lionsgate even ****ing bother with this release? BD-R, no extras and lossy audio. I really hope a label like Arrow gets a hold of it for another territory.

Your getting the higher bit rate with disc vs streaming on iTunes movies it still looks good but bit rate is much lower. Except for 4K most iTunes HD movie releases are less than 6GB. This disc is for fans or heavy admirers of the film easily who want best video quality. It is pretty amazing how most iTunes HD movie streams look so good though despite the lower bit rate. I guess it's good to have both options disc plus digital. Last edited by danny24; 09-03-2019 at 11:09 PM. |

1998 seems a bit late for Dolby SR. Dolby SR-D had been around for at least 5 years by 1998. The DVD replicates the track quite well for this type of movie when run through Dolby Pro Logic. The DVD is the only release I can recall that had the Dolby Stereo (Theatrical) logo on the back of the case; it should have been the Spectral Recording logo.
