Barnes & Noble has a 50% off Arrow sale a couple of times per year as well. That’s probably when I’ll pick this up.

Absolutely this - I was lucky enough to get the Daimajin set from Mill Creek, and for all the guff they get, the discs and films looked and sounded fantastic, plus the extra interviews were a nice surprise, especially covering how they did some of the special effects back then.

But YOKAI SERIES PLEASE PLEASE! That trilogy of films is a yearly tradition for us here...It's really awful that there's only one that was available on blu-ray, and that too shoe-horned onto a French release of Miike's Great Yokai War.... (which also needs a US release, please!)

Crossing my fingers that Gamera lights the way to more of these films getting royal treatment...

If they're including the comics and this many discs, I can see them doing a case like they did for the Herschell Gordon Feast box set as well... which just means you can hide this baby on a book shelf, all intellectual-like and all....

Looks like the discs will be housed in a digibook.

Anyone think there's a chance they'll release a comparatively more basic set of just the Hesei Trilogy?

Jumped all over this. Preordered from DiabolikDVD. Just about the only place I firmly trust with Arrow LEs.

Damn I’m spent on Mondo Macabro and the VSA title. Kinda tempted to just place it on my credit card. Since I have to order from Diabolik. They know how to how to ship.

$115 dollars!? You can't see me, but I just did a spit take. I was going to take a chance on this, but that's way too high. Aren't the original movies supposed to be laughably bad?

$115 is super cheap. Still might hold off till it's half off at B&N (which would be about $90 plus taxes), but Diabolik's price is excellent.

115 for the movies and the hardbound book seem like a very great price

How likely will there be a standalone edition of each movie?

I'm that douchebag that only wants Gamera the Brave.

12 movies on 8 discs. Unlikely.

I agree this is a great price, but the Severin set contains 32 films versus 12 films in this set, so they're not really an apples-to-apples comparison. Also, with Media Mail if you're not in a taxed state, you can get that Adamson set for $170 flat. That's not exactly cheap, but the price to film ratio is actually much better, if you want those films.

I'm still more excited about this Gamera set, though. Will be getting for sure.
