The point being why not fire? And to my mind the only reason not to fire is if you want the princess alive and you think she might be a board.

My internal canon on this matter borrows from real world situations. Firing on and capturing a ship of war is one thing. Firing on an unarmed, defenseless escape ship is something else. At this stage of the game, the Imperial Senate still exists and Leia pretty much tells Vader they won't "sit still" for what he has done.

As such, the rank and file are not quite as comfortable with committing war crimes as the leadership is.

PIECES is one of my favourite guilty pleasures of all time. The fact that you bring it up in a thread dedicated to movie scenes that make no logical sense gave me my laugh of the day.


Anyways, I win this thread with a resounding mike drop with my nomination of GRAVITY (2013) and it's climactic scene between Bullock and Clooney.

This idiotic film garnered a best picture nomination and won a number of academy awards!

Yeah, Pieces in this thread is hysterical. Llike THAT is the scene he goes with in that movie instead of the martial arts teacher who just randomly walks by attacking people lol. Or the lead detective who appoints non-police officers to join the squad and be investigators in the murder case. Or the lead detective who sees the murder weapon left in the scene of the crime and yet still wonders if that was the weapon used in the murder! One can go on and on from that movie! I find it hard to believe that post was being serious.

In Christine (1983), when Moochie is cornered. While Christine is jamming itself into that small passage to get to him, he stands there and lets himself get crushed instead of just walking up onto the hood and over the car. If he had just walked over the car then he would have had a hell of a head start considering Christine would have probably needed some time to dislodge itself from that narrow passageway.

Yeah, and I know they tried to protect against that logic gap when Alfred still said long term they can probably prove it was fraud, but with a massive public attack and highly unusual trades, wouldn’t the government be on it right away (frankly a company as big as Wayne Industries would probably be bailed out anyway even if it lost everything overnight legitimately, but that’s a different matter). I never minded the logic question of Bruce Wayne getting back into Gotham in a total no one in or out lockdown (he’s Batman of course he would find a way), but that really stood out.
