After reading the spoilers, especially the ending I’m really glad I decided not to get this game at the moment. The Last of Us for me ends after the excellent first game.

This game has induced some seriously crazy emotions with gamer's it seems to me haha.

The cringiest part in all of this for me isn’t the

[Show spoiler]LBGTQ representation or arc, but:

- Just how ripped the antagonist is. I mean she looks like wrestler. This was obviously intentional

- The biggest thing is Ellie ends up having empathy for Abby and does t kill her. The is the pandering shit I hate. Kill the primary male protagonist who is more associated with the franchise then any other character and end up having the two opposing female leads live on.

And lastly, while I don’t put much faith in Metacritic, the overwhelming positive 10/10 reviews makes me scratch my head. And no I have not played a second of it but the primary thrust of TLOS is not the gameplay but the amazing story and world that the game wrapped you up in. Not sure how anyone can just look at the cutscenes and some fault with this but whatever.

Just you guys wait and see how the game director praises himself within a trading card and his SJW-agenda you can find in the game or how the ending was literally for nothing.

But I REALLY adore the flashback scenes. This is the essence of TLoU for me.

I mean, I get what Neil was doing with Ellie sparing Abby's life, but it was a mixed bag. Joel's demise also didn't fully land for me, as it felt disappointing.

As someone said, the flashbacks with Joel and Ellie were the best parts, while Abby's flashbacks were also a mixed bag. TLOU 2 is good, but not great.

I don't own a console, so obviously I can't play, but if I did, man, I'd buy this cheap, or just play the first one.

Joel’s demise felt like a direct ripoff from a pivotal scene in the walking dead. Swap out a spiked out baseball bat for a golf club essentially.


And yeah, I can see what he was going for as well. The issue is for me it was shoehorned in waay too strongly, given how graphically Abby killed Joel, how evil her mother came across (which I know Ellie did not witness but still) and how “agro” Abby’s design is. And lastly, the fact you as the player is forced to play as the antagonist just all feels forced without a bit of subtlety or nuance.

I cancelled my pre-order as soon as I saw the leaks. Now that I've watched some play throughs and the ending, I can definitely say I made the right call. What a disappointing end to a really good console generation.

Still, we always have TLOU remastered. I do have the urge to go back and replay that *again*.

So the ending kinda losing steam when you just think logically yes she lost two fingers and no longer can play her guitar but all she has to do is play it left handed, as long as she has her pinky and pointer finger she can strum with the left and hit the cords with her right.
