For those lamenting missing out on Donnie Darko, Deep Red, Re-Animator, and Bride of Re-Animator LEs, iTunes sells digital copies with all of Arrow’s special features/alternate cuts. Not the same, I know, but a decent consolation prize, especially when on sale for $3 a pop.

Same here. I saw the movie a long time ago, and I wasn't blown away by it, but it still would have been cool to have the LE.

There are many, but one that stands out is the Twilight Time release of The Song of Bernadette, which is next to impossible to get for less than $100. I'm not willing to pay that. There are also a number of random barebones Miramax/Echo Bridge titles that were released around 2010ish that went under my radar and are now way overpriced—Heavenly Creatures, Teaching Mrs. Tingle, existenZ, and The Faculty come to mind.

Speaking of Twilight Time, Nicholas and Alexandra is one I wish I hadn't missed out on, given the prices it goes for nowadays. That one has Indicator written all over it, though, so maybe it will at least get a Region B release sometime soon.

Sony Pictures gave this an official release in Spain.

Great thread topic.

First I will cheat a bit and just say all OOP Criterion releases. DVD and BD.

For a single release, it's a very tough call, but I'll say "Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia".

I guess there are extenuating circumstances making this unavailable, but my choice-

Severin's Combat Shock - I haven't seen the movie, but I dig exploitation cinema, and it just looks so dark and gritty. I regret not taking the plunge when I had the chance.

I regret not picking up Moebius. It's going for nearly $200 now.

Criterion’s The Man Who Fell To Earth. Mainly for the David Bowie commentary.

SoB is easily one of my top blind buys ever.

I really didn't think it would hit those kinds of numbers. Right after it went out of print there were some sellers who bought stacks of copies and were selling them on ebay for around $20.
