2025 is believable since they'll continue to milk GTAV Online for the 3rd console generation. Unbelievable but money talks to Rockstar.
They put a lot into the series over the years, so they probably deserve the freedom to get the most out of GTAV, but honestly, I'm not a big fan of that map with the giant mountains over much of it, which is really a big waste of space where land could've been if they just made the map twice as big as the map in GTAV. If GTAV PS5 doesn't expand the map or improve the game in some astounding way, I'm not interested. If it's mostly just 4K 60 fps with reflections and the same old story with the trio, I'll pass. No way I'd pay $60 for the same game 3 times now. It's hard to imagine there will be many changes from their current formula since they already have a big online presence apparently. I traded in GTAV PS3 with Target's awesome deal to get GTAV PS4 for $30 new way back when. Main reason I upgraded was because of that deal, along with the interior dash views of bikes and vehicles and the 1080p resolution because the 720p looked blurry on PS3. Plus the animal mode is very cool. |

If that dlc crap was available in single player, I wouldn’t care about what they do with online. I bet the most people who broke TOS with Sony were people who played that game online. Most Toxic online gaming experience ever released on consoles. |

I actually wasn't impressed with all the 10/10 reviews GTA 4 got back in the day, but after a few years when they had all the DLC out, i played them and found them overall enjoyable and added to the single player. Hundreds of millions, if not over like $2bn at this point from GTA V and not 1 single content of DLC for single player. Releasing GTA Online content and acting as if MTX made it all so possible to keep it Free to Play (which is BS since you need PS+ btw) went out the window with Fortnite, Apex etc. |

I think GTA Online should be it's own thing, and make it free to play while they're at it |

The only good GTA multiplayer is passing the controller between friends to see who can have the longest, craziest single player rampage.

Many good comments about why a choice to play a game offline should be an option in GTA and other open world games, because when you just want to explore and some annoying player steps into your path and attacks without purpose each time, that would totally dampen the sense of freedom and enjoyment of a game IMO.
That's a big reason I enjoy exploring game world maps offline. Total freedom to go at your own pace and not have to avoid areas because some dumbass is camped in one spot in the game, sniping at anyone in sight. Let the game AI enemies do that so they can be conquered at least. Human AI is much more persistent and intelligent. It's neat to see other live players, yeah, but unless it's a team effort and that's one's goal at that moment, I rather have an option for offline. Quote:

![]() Repeated Releases of GTA V: GTA V 17 PS3, Xbox 360 September 2013 GTA V PS4, Xbox One 18 November 2014 GTA V Microsoft Windows 14 April 2015 GTA V PS5, Xbox Series X/S 11 November 2021 Again, if it's just superficial improvements like higher resolution and frame rate and reflections and little else, I'll avoid it. It better be groundbreaking stuff IMO for being lazy with only GTAV Online content releases it seems. RDR2 was developed by a separate team at Rockstar in many aspects. But that game didn't resonate with many players online like GTAV does. Almost 10 years of GTAV. It's a great game on PS4, but enough already. I was disappointed when they announced GTAV for PS5 yet again, as it means we won't see GTAVI till likely October 2025... If GTAVI is online only, I would avoid it for the first time in the series. GTAV PS5 having an offline mode hopefully is a decent sign anyway. |

What would be cool in GTA 6 is if you get attacked going into another gangs Territories and make all the missions pay out and pay good. I tried doing that strategy you do in GTA 5 with the stock market but was never able to pull it off. And Rockstar should sell the main single campaign separate from the online multiplayer. There should be no reason I should have to keep downloading updates for something I don’t use and the game files would be a lot smaller as well.

They'll lump them together unfortunately, so the updates for the PS5 game will include mostly online stuff, with only tiny files of single player until a possible DLC arrives for offline single player, which I'll guess won't happen. I wish there was an offline zombie mode, like Undead Nightmare, but Rockstar isn't the same as years ago. No Undead Nightmare 2 in RDR2. That would've been cool to see. |

Online though, definitely read they make it so people want to use MTX. Which i have no problem with for them to try sustain the servers, contenr etc. but as mentioned, it needs to become a stand alone product. Fortnite, Apex, Warzone etc. all hugely successful, constantly updated and so on where MTX don't feel forced on you but optional. |
