Are you sure Alpha dealt with Eastern Heroes? Maybe it was Ocean Shores (or both). From what I was told, there might have been a deal of sorts decades ago between Lo Wei and Golden Harvest, which may explain how these titles resided with Star TV.

The Columbia releases were odd / inconsistent. Some had hideous cropped masters (maybe intended for TV?), whilst others were in their original ratios.

There’s a bunch of things I’m curious about, but I’ll leave that for another suitable topic.

Now that you mention it, the Lo Wei titles were avaliable alongside various Golden Harvest titles for US VHS release from All Seasons back in the 1980s.

Going to be hard to resist this, I guess the only way is to keep buying JC titles and hope the releases go away eventually

Correct, it’s the counter on the right.

Couldn’t resist giving you all a tease.

In this case it’s Final Cut Pro 7, used to check for differences, compositing a master, or to detect defects.

This is interesting. I would really like to see a little feature about 88 films’ Hk cinema restoration work. Maybe meet the team and fans/experts like yourself and show us some of the work that goes into obtaining and restoring the films. Like Hong Kong Legends did with their introduction to Hong Kong Legends dvd featuring Hitman. Just a thought.

Always thought this would be a great addition just to make us fully appreciate the amount of restoration work

Yeah would be interesting. I’d like to see KungFuBob’s process too, how he goes about choosing his designs etc. Not that we don’t already fully appreciate what they do but it’d just be interesting.

Do I get to wear whatever I want?

Maybe a podcast would be nice, though it lacks the visual element. I kinda prefer the forums, but who knows.
