Where are we expecting this to drop? BestBuy or Zavvi or something else?

Can we expect a steelbook?

Would love all 3 in steelbooks, just to complete the series.

Big fan of Del Toro and love his work with Blade I & II & also Hellboy I & II!

This is great news! I love Blade, a sentimental film for me. And I just picked up a 4K screen, so I'm very excited for this release... I hope the long-awaited The Lost Boys will join it from WB. Thanks for the info.

Finally! I saw a rumor post on reddit a month or so back saying Blade was finally going to come to 4K, didn't believe them because they had no source, but I suppose it was true.

That opening blood rave scene is going to look and sound ****ing astounding with HDR and Atmos, I swear. The special effects are definitely going to look far more outdated than they already appear on the BD, but I honestly never cared much about them overall when the film is just that pumping. Though, I do wonder how much it'll accentuate Frost's awful blood effects in the third act...

Love Blade, enjoy Blade 2, and heck I like Blade 3 because Wesley Snipes to me "IS" Blade. The more Blade the better! I hope they all make the 4k cut at some point, but I am definitely happy that Blade is coming to UHD.

To me Blade was definitely a huge hit, but it doesn't get recognition when talking about comic book movies. Was Blade one of the first comic book movies that wasn't Batman/Superman/etc.? 1998, what was out before that? (I'm sure there are some, but Spiderman, xmen, were not out yet.)

Del Toro had nothing to do with Blade 1, Blade 1 was directed by Stephen Norrington.

Agreed.

I think most fans view X-Men as the beginning of the 'modern era' of comic book films, but I've always thought it was Blade.

I also felt at the time, one of the reasons why Blade was so successful was the general public did not realize this was a 'comic film'. Way easier to cross over into the mainstream when you had people going to check it out because of vampires, action, and Wesley Snipes. Perfect gateway, and it worked because it was a well done film.

The Blu-ray was 4K finished since there is a 4K DCP for years now.

I wonder if I can resist the temptation of pre-ordering and instead wait for a 4K trilogy release?

Oh, who am I kidding...

Still, hope the other two get 4K releases as well.

Next to The Exorcist, I think Sucker Punch is my most wanted Warner title on my UHD wishlist.

Blade is up at bestBuy but the prices don’t make sense for Warner’s $40 standard $45 steelbook.
