Aww man, this was the first of the blus I didn't preorder from them (due to not hearing about it) so of course it won't exist anymore.

Some might show up on ebay later. Shanghai Joe did, but mostly originating from sellers in the UK for whatever reason.

Hasn't someone mentioned that you can't get Blu-rays pressed at the factory if you don't prove you have the rights?

Like Shanghai Joe, it's up on eBay from a UK seller.

The price isn't great, but not outrageous.

I think it's a fair enough price for what is a pretty stellar Spaghetti western that's one of the better ones in the genre.

That’s nearly double the price but I still pulled the trigger. I’d hate to miss out on this one.

Yeah that was certainly my understanding, but these guys sure seem to have a lot of releases suddenly pulled for it just to be well-intentioned rights mixups every time.

What I don't understand is how they are only able to release titles for 1-2 weeks and then they get pulled. You would think they would be stopped before that happens. They have to press at least 1000, so it's a shame if most of them are shredded.

I wonder if the rights couldn’t be contested until the actual product appeared for sale.

They did an interview with SWDB a month ago where they said that they have had trouble negotiating with the Italian companies who own these films and that it is apparently sometimes unclear of what they actually have the rights to.

Won't be able to watch this until later, but they license from an Italian company, then it turns out said Italian company actually doesn't have the rights?

For one of their early releases, apparently they had thought that they bought the right to distribute the film when in fact they had only bought the film materials.

You guys were right, the transfer on this one is great. I wish I didn't have to pay nearly double the price for it, but it is definitely the best presentation that I have seen of this film.

Wow, did not expect The Ugly Ones to be sold out so quickly. Not familiar with this label so I guess their print run was extremely limited. Bummer.

Duke I've told you before but you wouldn't listen, Wildeast is a bootleg company.
All they do is take Euro. PAL Italian DVD's and do dubovers with the English soundtracks.
That's why the sound on Confessions of a Police Captain is way off. They took the English credits and spliced it before the film and dubbed the English track over the French version DVD.
P.S. They don't have the rights to anything they release.

What I've been told is that you can't press Blu-rays without first proving you have the license, which is why there aren't any pressed bootlegs of Blu-rays. All the bootlegs are BD-Rs.

They made have had shady practices, but they are a legit company. They even do interviews with the Spaghetti Western Database every so often and have explained their process of acquiring films.
