So just the HK cuts are presented (with the exception of TTLS Taiwanese cut) with the classic dubs as audio options? If so I'll admit to missing the bouncing frog on a plate insert from the export cut of MLS. Regardless this is still a day one purchase for me.

Would it be possible to get the 7.1 mixes or at least 5.1 sound?

Thanks for the info, I never owned the HKL disc. Still holding on to my Scanbox dvd.

Cool, thanks! I might be mixing things up here, but I thought the scene with all the taxi-drivers from My lucky stars never received an english dub since it was cut from the international release?

Picked up the Cine Asia releases of My Lucky Stars and Twinkle, Twinkle from the Pound Shop a few years back. My copy of Winners & Sinners was a VHS I found in the 50p lost covers section in Blockbuster, along with Wheels on Meals.lol Looking forward to picking this up ;0)

Do you know if MoC are the ones who are funding the restorations for this or is still being paid for by Fortune Star?

Will this release contain all the deleted scenes, etc that were available on the Japanese release?

Really happy to see this release but I picked up the Korean box set () fairly recently so won't be double-dipping.

I'm interested to see how much difference there is though in terms of reinstated cuts and PQ.

Fairly certain the transfers on that Korean set are just upscales. Hell, the restorations for Winners and Sinners as well as Twinkle Twinkle Lucky Stars were definitely after that box set released. Even Fortune Star's YouTube trailer for the restoration of My Lucky Stars was months after the Korean set came out.

I miss when 5.1 remixes of HK movies were just the stems spread out with nothing new added.

where is a version of My Lucky Stars which has the old dub on uncut HK Prints? and what about the alternate Shot of the frog, and the 10 Minutes missing on every version known to me in English back then?

https://www.schnittberichte.com/schn...ht.php?ID=1223

i have only ever seen a 84 min English dub on VHS and (Nordic) DVD. I don't have the HKL DVD as it was censored so no idea what dub is on there.

A decent amp can do a good job of spreading the mono sound around the room without the added really loud effects. It's how I watch some of the Hong Kong mono soundtracks where speech can sound quite muddy and lost in the rest of the soundtrack.

^If you have seen only the first films in the Police Story and Project A series then the Eureka 2-film sets for these 2 series should be interesting to you. There's also Armour of God 1&2 available separately. Wheels on Meals is comparatively slow to start, but the last half-hour is blistering martial arts action. Rumble in the Bronx is a good late career Jackie film.

Well the Lucky Stars films aren't really Jackie focused so if it's strictly him you're after then probably best to look elsewhere.

For me i'd say:

Police Story 1-5 (1&2 are available in a boxset the others not yet)

Project A 1&2

Armour of God 1&2 (only 2 is available right now to buy it's called Operation Condor Armour of God 2)

If you want blind buy suggestions i'd say, Wheels on Meals and Dragons Forever as two stand alone films. Available from Eureka and 88 Films respectively.
