Good question. I remember when Hulu used to be free years ago.

I remember when CR was part of the seven seas . I think that is why they kept the titles timed to become free with ads after a week or two . They knew a bunch would put the eye patch back on and sail the seas again . Hopefully Sony gets that and does not mess with the formula to much . They have a bad habit of messing up the good things about whatever they touch though .

Yeah, Hulu used to be great back then. Then they got greedy.

Yeah Hulu used to be awesome. It's how I watched LOST and caught up on Naruto Shippuden. What was great about Hulu circa 2010 is that their commercials were only 5 seconds and only had one interval. (one at the beginning of the episode)

Hulu could have been a spectacular platform. But... they f**ed up.

The UI is also now a bit of a mess and they purged the watch history along with the timestamps for them (Ex: 3 years ago, 5 months ago, 1 week ago).

Funimation probably wishing they sealed the deal before Viz got home video rights. Jujutsu Kaisen is gonna be a big seller.

Looks like Crunchyroll had an interesting mistake moment with 1 of the greatest VTubers. It honestly makes them look pretty epic chads to be following Ouro Kronii.

Crunchyroll announced on Saturday that it is streaming Pop Team Epic Repeat (remix version), the rebroadcast of the Pop Team Epic television anime series. The show is available for members worldwide outside of Asia, and the first episode is available now.

Crunchyroll describes the series:

Crude, rude, and a little…cute? Get ready for the larger-than-life attitude of Popuko and Pipimi, the small and tall stars of Pop Team Epic! Based off the bizarre four-panel webcomic by Bukubu Ōkawa comes a comedy that'll throw you off with its out-there jokes and intense absurdity. You think you're ready for these girls? Think again, F#%**er!

The staff of the anime also announced on Saturday that the show has a remixed voice cast for the rebroadcast version.

In the first rebroadcast episode, Mami Koyama and Kotono Mitsuishi play Popuko and Pipimi respectively in the first half of the show (they played the characters in episode 12-a in the original run), and Ryusei Nakao and Norio Wakamoto play Popuko and Pipimi respectively in the second half (they played the characters in episode 3-b of the original run).

The original broadcast featured Masashi Ebara and Houchu Ohtsuka as Popuko and Pipimi in the first episode's first half, and Yuji Mitsuya and Noriko Hidaka as Popuko and Pipimi in the second half.

The television anime series premiered in January 2018. HIDIVE, Funimation, Crunchyroll, AsianCrush, and Amazon Prime Video all streamed the anime as it aired in Japan. Adult Swim's Toonami block began airing the series in June 2018. Sentai Filmworks released the anime on Blu-ray Disc in North America in October 2018. Netflix began streaming the anime in the United States in February 2020, but with only half of each episode available.

The original anime's full episodes are each 23 minutes long. Each episode has two main parts with much of the same content. The two parts have different voice actors, as well as some different content such as altered jokes.

The anime adapts a surreal four-panel manga by Bkub Okawa that centers around two 14-year-old girls, the short Popuko and the tall Pipimi.

Well, that's good news to me, the Funimation site is pretty much crap, so moving everything over to Crunchyroll is better than moving everything over to Funimation. They better increase the bandwidth output on Crunchyroll for a surge of new customers, though. Next steps - a generous increase in subscription rates for Crunchy, and probably a name change from 'Crunchyroll' coming in the future.

Maybe now they can update the Crunchyroll Roku app so it isn't total trash.

Most all Roku apps are a PITA to even use. My only TV is in the living room, and is an old 2007 first generation HD 52" Sharp Aquos. I do have a Roku stick attached to it since it is not a smart TV, but I rarely use it.

I pretty much stream everything on my desktop PC, All-in-One PC, or sometimes my HTPC up onto the 120" projection screen in my theater room, since it is so much easier to use streaming sites on a PC. I also have a new I7 Laptop my mom uses at a desk close to the TV in the living room, and it has an HDMI port, so I just need to get about a 20' cable to connect it to the TV so I can stream from it - unless I can successfully cast to it, but my TV may be too old for that.

Crunchyroll works great on PS5. Very happy this is the decision they made. Funimation app sucks.

I don't love the Crunchyroll app (mainly thru Nvidia Shield TV and sometimes Apple TV), but the few times I've had Funimation it's made me appreciate CR a little more, lol. So I'm ok with this.

They definitely have better subs, sometimes CR is very slow though (especially heavy traffic days, like when new Dragon Ball was coming out) and I couldn't stream anything.

Yea I recall that being a problem but it hasn't been one recently with new Attack on Titan and Demon Slayer Sundays. Overall with both companies focusing on one platform I hope it just gets batter and better functionally.
