I find the opposite, you pick up on more nuance and details being able to watch it soon after. Nothing kills a detail like it showing up in episode 1 or 2 and then nothing coming from it until episode 10 or 20. Just look at Gravity Falls and all their callbacks. Then throwing in needless breaks doesn't help.

Though I don't watch a full season in a day... unless it's something short in runtime and/or episodes. (like a 30-minute 6-episode show). I don't trust people who have enough time to watch a show with 10 1-hour episodes lol

More like that's all they had ready. Post houses are still slammed because of COVID with most still trying to work from home. Not to mention scoring and sound mixes.

Paramount's the one who rushed it out, they could've waited a few weeks. Premiere it the same night as the Yellowstone finale instead.

It's not a matter of rushing but of schedules getting pushed back at the last minute. You haven't heard of unforeseen delays?

This show went from good to excellent real fast. I'd not mind if there were more Western series in development, as long as they're well made.

This show is just fantastic. Samuel Elliot and Isabel may are incredible. Another great episode.

Moreso Isabel May than Sam Elliott for me now. Her character is brilliant and an excellent actress.

Well it took 7 episodes for me to be on board with this show, but here I am! That was a great ep, prob the first one the show has had. Other's have been very good, but not great yet. Hope they can keep it up.

Another brilliant episode and now what starts to hurt is the fact there's only three episodes left. I truly can't say how amazed I am with Isabel May, she's one heck of an actress and perfect for this and any other Western show.

Didn't think Faith Hill would be good too, but goes to show, you give people a chance and they'll put in the effort if they appreciate it.

Watching each episode at a time really gives you a far greater sensation than binging it all at once. I'm glad they don't follow Netflix's footsteps at all, neither with binge aspect or its quality (or lack thereof).

The last time I commented on this thread, I'd seen 4 episodes and I was liking the show a lot.

Now I have seen 7 episodes so far and my opinion hasn't changed, I am still liking it and this is one of the few shows that I follow and watch on a weekly basis since I'm subbed to Paramount.

I don't have a super expensive TV, but this show looks great on my 65" Hisense in 4k and dolbyvision.

This is the first thing I've seen on Paramount that has made me glad that I subbed to them a while back during some deal.

Is this show in 4K DV? I didn't notice any badges when watching it on my TV. I did notice it on Star Trek Discovery watching that.

You are correct. I must've gotten it mixed up with another series I was watching.

I just checked to see what it said on my tv when streaming an episode of 1883 and it says - 4K - 24hz - dolbyaudio - DD

I still think the series looks nice though, even though it apparently wasn't HDR when I was watching it.

I was wondering how she got the job, not that she's bad or anything but just kind of a random choice. I wonder if it had something to do with Tim McGraw being in it, since he's had more acting roles than she has.

The "what is this f***" scene was pretty great, don't piss off Faith Hill.

They're both Country singers so that must count for something.

ON account Faith is Married to Tim that may explain it

Does this show put anyone else in the mood for A Million Ways to Die in the West? So hilariously tragic I can’t stop thinking of it when watching this.

Started watching and it's my kind of western; the one that is not about cool dudes wearing a stetson and shooting at each other, but about the individual struggle in the wilderness, against a land that is as beautiful at it is cruel.

When Yellowstone started I was superhyped, but was let down by the soap-opera tones and stopped watching. Glad that here Sheridan changed register.
I'm also glad that he avoided excessive violence, but somehow tones are too light and some things look excessiveley "polished".

I doubt it will ever top Deadwood, but it is a solid show.

Another great episode. The cinematography is outstanding. I like the fact that it's a slow burn show. Take their time. Cover as much as you can with the cameras - the struggle, the barrenness, the individual sub-plots.
