Really wish they'd continue the movie + graphic novel editions. I really loved those and would of loved to have this movie in that format.

They really hit it out of the park with this one, Part 2 might be even better than Part 1. I'm so glad The Long Halloween is joining the ranks of The Dark Knight Returns and New Frontier and not The Killing Joke and Hush.

That too, and Year One, All Star Superman, The Death of Superman, etc. They hit more than they miss, but they're last couple have been lackluster. I'm happy that The Long Halloween falls in the better group.

Is there a way I can but the digital but have the perks on movies anywhere (going on multiple platforms) or is that just reserved for the digital codes?

So long as the platform you buy it from is connected to your Movies Anywhere account it should. All DC movies (as far as I know) work with Movies Anywhere. However, if we get a single-film-version at some point with new bonus features, that will be a new listing and you'll have to buy it again if you want that.

Part Two is on the way and I can't wait till this weekend when I plan on checking it out. I enjoyed Part 1, I did hunt for a 4K but no such luck and I don't plan on upgrading if a 4K release is out in the future now that I have the Blu-Rays although I see they are both on Itunes in 4K Dolby Vision. I purchased part 1 and Justice Society WW2 4K at the same time and noticed that they appear to have the DC logo on the slips or something like that when placed together on my shelf. I think Part 2 completes it? or am I missing some other titles its hard to tell?

Each of the spines of the blu-rays now feature a piece of a puzzle that makes up a banner that reads "DC UNIVERSE".

So far, only Superman: Man of Tomorrow, Justice Society: World War II, Batman: The Long Halloween Part One, and Batman: The Long Halloween Part Two have been released with that trade dress. It'll continue with future titles.

Batman: Soul of the Dragon is a part of the growing panorama as well, although it isn't part of the new shared universe.

Just bought the movie today and I only have three nitpicks.

1. A cgi horse to pull the wagon? Really?

2. I feel like Penguin got the short end of the stick in this movie.

3. That post credits scene was so obviously done at the last minute. The animation on it was awful!

Other than that, I loved it! As for the Blue Beetle short, it was also great! However, it was more a parody of the 60s Spider-Man cartoon, rather than the Filmation DC Comics of the 60s.

So what are the titles that are part of the matching spines? Justice Society, Batman Soul of the Dragon and Long Halloween, Superman Man of Tomorrow? Any others?

That's everything so far, in this order:

Superman: Man of Tomorrow
Batman: Soul of the Dragon
Justice Society World War II
Batman: The Long Halloween Part 1
Batman: The Long Halloween Part 2

I thought the refreshed ending worked extremely well and the set up for Two Face was executed very well.

Watched part 2 last night, and I rather liked it. Not quite to the level of the comic, of course, but I felt they did a really good job overall. Liked that Scarecrow had a beefed up role (he's my favorite villain, so I'm terribly bias). I do miss his creepy Tim Burton-esque style from the comics, and him talking in nursery rhymes, but they gave that to Mad Hatter, so it was still there (though I didn't really care for Mad Hatter's voice- I've come to really love Peter MacNicol's take from the Arkham games, so that's my go-to voice). Penguin didn't really bother me, as his role in the comic wasn't that big anyway. I was more bummed over
[Show spoiler]not having Riddler in the story, even if his role was pretty small too.

I had heard there was going to be more action than in the comics, and initially I was worried it would feel shoehorned, but it felt pretty natural. The only thing I really didn't care for was the ending.
[Show spoiler]I didn't even mind the new connection between Gilda and Alberto, but Batman would never let her get away with it like he did. Sure, she did what she set out to do and would no longer be a threat, but justice wasn't served. I get that it was a reluctant choice on Batman's part, and the city had the scapegoat in Two-Face, but one of the things from the comic that stuck with me most was how, at the end of the day, Batman failed in stopping the true killer. It's not often a superhero story ends on such a bittersweet note, and I loved that. The movie was still good, and made sense, but I wish they'd stuck with the original ending.

I thought Josh Duhamel did a terrific job as Dent/Two-Face. He really nailed that gravelly voice. Naya Rivera did a great job as Catwoman, so it's a shame there won't be any more of her. Wished we'd gotten more Calendar Man, too- David Dastmalchian continues to be amazing in any role he's in. All in all, it's definitely one of the better DCAU adaptations. Kept the spirit alive while making some new, interesting changes. I'd be down for a Dark Victory adaptation, or even a Haunted Knight one-off, too.

Just finished part II and it'd be nice if for a change they put the DC animated films in theaters on like a limited run like they do with the anime titles.
Getting to watch The Long Halloween in its entirety on the big screen would have been pretty sweet.
