Here they just ignore there ever was a version in 3D. People here are dumb(corporations and costumers) and just don't know or care about what type of movie they see. Only aficionados question them and get dumb or evasive answers so people drop the subject.

And if you don't mind me asking what does a ticket go for?

I'm also curious as the most expensive ticket I'm seeing for this at Cinemark is 16 bucks. For 3d, in XD. But that lacks the water sprayer, fog machine, and whatever else 4D entails.

There's also a DBOX option, which commands an 8 dollar premium, but I am not seeing any options that combine 3D, XD, and DBOX. 3D & XD combined are less than a 5 dollar premium.

So if RealD is killing 3D through fees then DBOX is making them look like pikers.

Looks like there are fewer than 10 tickets purchased per showing of SC locally, that Marvel-mania be runnin' mild.

Maybe they should've put Tobey into this one too?

This film will be releasing in Digital 3D and IMAX 3D formats in the UAE on September 1, and in select cities in India on September 3.

Still can't see it in the cinemas anytime soon because cinemas are closed in my state.

I'm in NZ so same for me here too. I'm hopeful we'll get on top of this latest outbreak so I can see it in IMAX in a few weeks, will have to see how it goes.

I'm not sure how it's a test of a new price point, when pretty much it's the same price point as earlier releases.

SW9, Sw8, Solo, Infinity War, Black Panther, Ralph 2, Endgame, Cap Marvel, Dumbo, Incrd 2, Coco, Thor Ragn, Wonder Woman, Cars 3 Guardians 2, -- all those 4K+3D combo packs have been 8600-8800 over the last several years,

Yes but only Ralph 2 and Black Widow are Japanese exclusives. They're testing whether international 3D consumers will buy 3D Blu-rays at Japan's price point.

Wow this thread seems a lot better than the one in movies section. I'll most likely watch this in 3D. The action sequences and stunts are getting a lot of praise!

One time I'm glad that Japan isn't playing to the "over 9000!" meme.

Oh no, not that. I've seen how that plays out with other Japanese media and it does not end well. Though at least then it was the Japanese selling Japanese media to us, the idea of Disney selling us Western media via Japan, but at Japanese prices + import fees, would just be too much.

Some of the criticism of the choreography/cinematography for the stunts & scenes suggests to me that 3D is going to be the way this was meant to be seen.

...though I sure wish Disney would tell its actors that their movies are not "platforms" for the actors to use to say highly questionable and bombastic things that can only hurt the film at the box office.

Waste of time trying to discuss Marvel films in the main movie section. It’s been hijacked by fan boys who believe everything marvel does is the best thing ever. I like a lot of Marvel stuff but not every film is top notch entertainment.

We then have a small number of people gloating in the DC section because the likes of Suicide Squad flopped.

3D sections have always been well balanced imo.

They put out Ralph two years ago and skipped Mulan and plenty of others. I don't think this is any kind of test or they would have been releasing 3D this entire time. It's more likely they know this will sell in Japan being Marvel based and decided this was worth the effort. If they wanted to 'test' 3D they would have released a 3D sku, not lump it with 4k.

It's not like the average Joe is going to wake up tomorrow and randomly decide to visit Amazon Japan to see what new movies came out. The only people who know this exists visit forums

I think that they shut down the 3D section in all media production with the pandemic and probably the japanese one was still working.

I don't know by then if people wrote emails or phoned them to ask those movies to get them in 3D, for Black Widow we did, at least i did and i believe most did too.

That doesn't add up

Mulan was converted BEFORE the pandemic. Godzilla vs Kong came out during the pandemic, I know because my city re-opened 48 hours before release and I was able to buy one in store. They have a 3D version of Mulan somewhere. If they can manufacture a 4k disc or a Blu-Ray disc they can manufacture a 3D disc. I doubt anyone said "we need to shut down 3D production during COVID, but let's keep DVD, 4k and Blu-Ray going...."

GvK is WB, not Disney. And Disney is enforcing Disney+, probably all physical media will shutdown for good in the future. Because there's passed 2 years since the last blockbuster released in 3D they thought that 3D was done for good and if no one lobbied for the 3D disc they never released those movies in that format. I don't really know, just speculating.

Depends on the location. Some places it’s $25 (downtown locations) some places it is $18. At $18 it’s amazingly good value for the experience compared to regular tickets. At $25 it would still be worth it

And $18 gets you the full 3d 4dx experience?
