Can’t argue with that, and from that perspective I think @ThomasFMaher got it right.

Honestly I feel like they are targeting an older demographic, the one willing to let nostalgia lead their purchase decisions. Just so happens a lot of them have kids who are at the right age to get hooked as well.

No kid in my family likes Nintendo. my teens nephews play on PC

I also noticed that they don't play campaigns

I think Nintendo is right, they are not directly competing with XBox and/or PlayStation anymore, because they established the Switch as the second console one needs to buy besides one of the former two. I know many people, who have a PS4/PS5 AND a Switch or a XBox AND a Switch. But not many have a PlayStation and a XBox, because normally you go for one or the other. I think and hope Nintendo sticks with the Switch philosophy regarding their next console. It’s the perfect match for them.

Play the Switch almost always in docked mode, so really don’t need this new model. Did the only reasonable thing. Pre-Ordered immediately…

Walmart reduced the price on my pre-order to $299. Umm so for all the posts saying it's not worth $350, well the effective price is going to be less apparently.

Walmart mysteriously did this for a number of pre-orders (same for Metroid Dread collector’s edition) citing ‘price match’. Prevailing theory seems to be somebody screwed up something in their system and price matched the standard model SKU. Some people even had luck getting Target to price match that while Walmart still had it live for $299.

My pre-order at Walmart for months said it would come Sunday. They never shipped anything and now the order is delayed. They have ones going for like $500-$600 on the site from 3rd Party Sellers. Right now my order just says "Delayed, check back for updates" as it has since Sunday. I wasn't in a hurry or anything, I'm in the middle of a game anyway, but I am worried that it won't ever ship. Customer service doesn't know anything of course. Just said the order is still good and it will ship.
